Tree of Life is an urban Jesus loving school located in the heart of Edison neighborhood- the largest, poorest, most diverse neighborhood in Kalamazoo County. Our vision is to transform young lives and provide a, “A Christ-centered school that anyone can afford”. For the school year 2026-27 we are looking for a dedicated and innovative elementary teacher who thrives in an environment of:
• Small class size (up to 20 students) to individualize/differentiate instruction
• Develop strong interpersonal connections between staff, families & students
• Teacher support and active volunteers
• Bible instruction to nurture spiritual formation of faith with corporate prayer and worship
• Multi-grade configuration to maximize student success in literacy, math, and other subjects
• Priority on developing the whole child with instruction in art, music, PE, technology
• Engaging learning activities connecting content with the real world
• Service to others
• Collaborative learning environment to enfold the family and community
• Celebrating Diversity in the Body of Christ
Salary - $44,000-$47,000 plus healthcare stipend, matching retirement, & degree stipend.
Teacher certification is preferred but not required.

Tree of Life is a distinctive Christ-centered school located in the Edison Neighborhood of Kalamazoo. Path of Life exists to provide a Christ centered education to all students regardless of their socio-economic situation. Path of Life celebrates the diversity of the body of Christ and equips students to serve God, people, and creation to their fullest potential.
