Paravel Insights is seeking an experienced, strategic, and visionary Creative Director to lead our creative department and oversee creative direction, strategy, development, and execution across our client accounts and campaigns.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding the entire creative process, from initial strategy and conceptual development through design, copywriting, storytelling, film and video production, and final execution.
We are looking for someone who can see the big picture while maintaining a strong understanding of the details that make great work successful. The ideal candidate brings a combination of creative vision, strategic thinking, strong leadership, and hands-on expertise.
We need someone who can lead a multidisciplinary team, develop strong campaign concepts, oversee visual and written content as well as film and video, establish clear standards, and ensure everything produced by the department is strategically aligned and executed with excellence.
The right person will be comfortable leading creative conversations, presenting and defending ideas, making decisions, mentoring team members, and taking ownership of the department's performance and output.
Lead and oversee Paravel's creative department, including design, copywriting, film and video, and related creative disciplines.
Serve as the primary day-to-day leader of the department, providing clear direction, support, and accountability.
Establish and maintain high standards for quality, consistency, collaboration, and execution.
Provide mentorship, coaching, professional development, and performance feedback to team members.
Partner with the Design Director to ensure strong visual leadership, effective design execution, and consistency across projects.
Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment that encourages innovation, initiative, ownership, and excellence.
Partner with executive leadership on department structure, staffing needs, resource planning, and long-term team development.
Establish and improve workflows, review processes, and departmental practices that support both quality and efficiency.

Collaborate closely with strategists and account leads to translate client objectives, audience insights, and campaign strategies into effective creative solutions.
Oversee concept development from initial brainstorming and strategic planning through final execution.
Guide the creative direction of campaigns across multiple clients, industries, and platforms.

Provide leadership and direction across visual design, written content, film, and video, ensuring cohesive creative execution.
Oversee brand identity development, campaign design, advertising creative, messaging, copywriting, film and video production, content development, and storytelling.
Ensure that design, copy, and video work together to communicate clear, compelling, and strategically aligned messages.
Ensure all campaign messaging, copywriting, and written communications reflect natural American English, appropriate cultural context, and the intended tone and voice for U.S. audiences.
Provide creative direction for video campaigns, television commercials, digital advertising, branded films, and other video content from concept through final production.
Collaborate with internal production teams, videographers, editors, directors, and external production partners to ensure a cohesive creative vision.
Guide creative development across digital, print, social media, websites, film, video, advertising, presentations, events, and other campaign channels.
Review and approve creative concepts, designs, messaging, scripts, storyboards, video treatments, and final deliverables for quality, accuracy, consistency, and strategic alignment.
Work closely with the Design Director to maintain high visual standards while providing overarching direction across the department.
Lead copywriters in developing effective messaging, headlines, campaign narratives, advertising copy, scripts, and other written communications.
Maintain a strong understanding of design principles, copywriting, brand strategy, visual storytelling, audience engagement, and multichannel execution.
Provide hands-on creative guidance and contribute directly to concept development or execution when needed.
Lead the creative development of integrated campaigns and initiatives from initial concept through launch.
Oversee campaign identities, messaging frameworks, visual systems, content development, and supporting creative assets.
Ensure a cohesive approach across campaign platforms, channels, and deliverables.
Guide creative work for brand launches, awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, advocacy efforts, recruitment campaigns, advertising, and storytelling experiences.
Oversee the creative direction of film and video projects, including concept development, scripting, storyboarding, production planning, and post-production review.
Partner with production teams to ensure commercials and video content align with campaign strategy, messaging, and overall creative vision.
Balance ambitious ideas with practical considerations, including budgets, timelines, resources, and client expectations.
Collaborate with project managers and account leads to ensure projects move efficiently from planning to delivery.
Identify challenges early, provide solutions, and help keep projects moving forward.
Adapt quickly to changing priorities, evolving strategies, and new client needs.
Take ownership of the overall quality, consistency, and effectiveness of work produced by the department.
Establish clear review and approval processes to maintain high standards across all deliverables.
Ensure creative work aligns with approved strategies, client objectives, brand guidelines, and project requirements.
Provide decisive, constructive feedback and ensure revisions strengthen the final product.
Work closely with project managers to maintain accountability for deadlines, deliverables, and project milestones.
Evaluate campaign performance, client feedback, and results to identify opportunities for improvement.
Identify and implement improvements to creative workflows, team collaboration, and departmental efficiency.
Maintain a high standard of excellence while empowering team members to take ownership of their responsibilities.
Reporting Structure: Report directly to the Senior Marketing Strategist (Account Lead) and the Chief Operating Officer (Acting Executive Creative Director).
Department Leadership: Directly oversee and lead the Design Director, designers, and copywriters, while providing creative direction and oversight for film and video production.
Translate strategic direction from the Senior Marketing Strategist and executive creative direction from the COO into clear, actionable guidance for the creative team.
Collaborate closely with executive leadership, senior strategists, account managers, project managers, and production teams.
Serve as a key creative leader in internal planning, campaign development, and strategic discussions.
Participate in client meetings, presentations, campaign reviews, and creative workshops.
Present concepts confidently, communicate strategic rationale, and guide discussions with internal teams and clients.
Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment between strategy, creative development, and execution.
Help bridge the gap between strategic vision and the practical work required to bring campaigns to life.
Communicate proactively regarding creative needs, project challenges, priorities, and opportunities.
Must be based in the United States and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Exceptional written and spoken English proficiency, with native-level fluency, is required.
8+ years of professional experience in creative, advertising, marketing, branding, or campaign development, preferably within an agency environment.
Demonstrated experience leading creative teams, departments, or multidisciplinary creative initiatives.
Proven ability to oversee design, copywriting, and film and video, with a strong understanding of how these disciplines work together.
Strong portfolio demonstrating creative direction, integrated campaign development, brand strategy, advertising, storytelling, and high-quality execution.
Experience developing and leading campaigns from initial strategy and concept through production and launch.
Experience providing creative direction for film, video production, television commercials, digital advertising, or branded video content.
Strong understanding of visual storytelling, scripting, production workflows, editing, and post-production, with the ability to guide specialized production teams.
Strong understanding of branding, art direction, design, copywriting, content strategy, advertising, and multichannel marketing.
Ability to translate complex strategies, audience insights, and organizational objectives into clear and compelling concepts.
Experience managing, mentoring, and developing creative professionals while maintaining accountability and high performance standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, organization, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple client accounts, competing priorities, and fast-moving projects without sacrificing quality.
Comfortable collaborating directly with senior leadership, strategists, account teams, and clients.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to evaluate both the big-picture strategy and the finer details of execution.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and modern design and production workflows.
Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, or similar collaboration and project management tools preferred.
Experience with web development, motion graphics, or emerging creative technologies is a plus.
Experience working with advocacy, nonprofit, education, faith-based, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
