We are currently looking for qualified applicants to fill the following position: Elementary Music Teacher
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Deliver lessons on elementary music concepts. Prepare activities to help students grasp the lesson being taught. Prepare musical programs and/or concerts. Give instrumental lessons, as requested by parents. Communicate with parents and supervisors about educational and behavioral challenges of individual children. Grade classwork and assessments, which provide specific feedback on each child’s performance.
· Talent for communicating with young children and encouraging their academic and artistic success.
· High level of patience and creativity to encourage participation and love for music.
· Lead group study, discussion, and demonstration.
· Develop an interesting and interactive classroom learning environment.
· Prepare materials for successful delivery of lessons.
· Motivate students to participate and engage in learning in a clean and disciplined environment.
· Guide students as they incorporate and practice the concepts presented.
· Maintain a gradebook through Renweb.
· Communicate with parents through email, phone, and in-person conferences.
· Evaluate and observe students’ musical gifts and talents.
· Direct programs and concerts, which will require occasional after-school hours.
· Assist classroom teachers with musical performances, as needed.
· Work effectively with colleagues and administration.
The Elementary Music Teacher must:
