Job Description

To fulfill our mission of inspiring Christ-like change by supporting employees through HR and Benefits support functions. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Administrative 
    1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital employee personnel files including employee documents, trainings and certifications
    2. Maintain and update shared drive resources with up-to-date information
    3. Help coordinate and execute training sessions/Onboarding weeks/Residency Classes, etc.
    4. Provide administrative support to HR Director as needed
    5. Ensure required notices (e.g., wage notices, benefits notices) are provided/posted
    6. Assist with updates related to employee changes in Leadr/CCCA/Working Genius/Paycor, etc.
    7. Manage employee credit card requests/distribution
    8. Assist with employee communication- Stay in the Know, Employee portal, etc
  2. Payroll
    1. Serve as primary liaison between employees, HR and payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
    2. Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed
    3. Assist with employee timecards as needed
    4. Cash counts as needed
    5. Weekly check processing
  3. Onboarding
    1. Coordinate background checks
    2. Prepare orientation materials 
    3. Liaison for new hires for first 60 days of employment
  4. Benefits
    1. Conduct regular audits of benefits plans
    2. Communicate payroll deductions and changes
    3. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee information

Qualifications

The “ideal” candidate will have:

  • Faith-Based Commitment: Strong alignment with the Christian mission and values of the camp; commitment to furthering its ministry through fundraising efforts.
  • Experience: At least one year of administrative or office support experience, including performing routine clerical tasks such as scheduling, document preparation, data entry, filing, and coordinating communications.
  • Skills & knowledge: 
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong writing abilities, including experience with employee communications, documentation, and reporting.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Demonstrates a genuine care for employees and is committed to supporting a positive staff experience through responsive communication, helpful service, and attention to employee needs
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Self-motivation and follow-through to carry projects to completion.
    • Ability to effectively train and communicate with staff across multiple departments regarding laws, policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize information and clearly present findings.
    • Tactful and compassionate communication style, especially when conveying policy updates or changes that impact staff. 
    • Knowledge of acceptable, ethical, and mission-aligned hiring practices. 
    • Ownership mentality
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in electronic data entry within payroll and HRIS platforms, with preference given to candidates experienced with Paycor. Strong command of Microsoft Office and Google Workplace applications, along with the ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and troubleshoot new or unfamiliar software systems. 
  • Work Ethic: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple priorities with enthusiasm and dedication.
  • Spanish-speaking a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range starting at $15.00. Compensation is hourly with overtime pay.

  • On-site housing with utilities and appliances included
  • Medical coverage through CHM, employer funded HRA, and pharmacy benefit plan - 100% paid by employer for employee and spouse
  • PTO - base amount of 20 days annually, sick leave, and volunteer time off
  • Retirement - After 1 year of employment, employer contributes 4% NEC and up to 4% matched
  • Camp program and retail discounts, including a free session of camp annually, friends and family lodging options, and use of camp facilities for personal gatherings
  • On-site meals for employee and family during the summer and special occasions
