Cherokee Christian School seeks highly qualified candidates passionate about classical Christian education to serve as a Middle School Latin and Grammar teacher (grades 6–8) beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.
Serve as a Middle School teacher responsible for teaching Latin and formal grammar (grades 6–8) within a classical Christian framework.
Design and deliver engaging instruction that strengthens students’ understanding of language structure, vocabulary, and the foundations of classical learning.
Use the classical method and Socratic dialogue to help students see the connections between Latin, English grammar, and the broader classical curriculum.
Foster intellectual curiosity, moral formation, and spiritual growth in early adolescents.
Participate fully in student life, which may include sponsoring clubs, mentoring students, assisting with school-wide responsibilities, and providing academic support to students in need of additional guidance. Faculty are also encouraged to contribute to the broader life of the school through extracurricular programs such as athletics, clubs, drama, music, chess, or other student activities that enrich the classical Christian community.
A demonstrated commitment to classical Christian education.
Experience or comfort teaching Latin and formal grammar, and helping students see the relationship between Latin and the English language.
A vibrant, active Christian faith and regular attendance at a biblically orthodox church.
A desire to form students intellectually, spiritually, morally, and socially.
Strong classroom management, relational leadership, and communication skills.
While not required, candidates with interest or experience in supporting extracurricular programs such as athletics, clubs, drama, music, chess, or other student activities are encouraged to apply. Stipends may be available for select leadership roles in addition to the base teaching salary.
Cherokee Christian School is a covenant Christian school. Faculty, staff, families, and students are expected to be active participants in a biblically orthodox Christian church. All subject areas are taught from an integrated Christian worldview. A successful applicant must be an active, practicing Christian who regularly attends a biblically orthodox Christian church.
