The Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration are seeking a skilled and compassionate Seamstress on a part-time basis to support our community of Catholic religious Sisters. This unique position combines craftsmanship, service, and care by ensuring that habits, veils, clothing, linens, and other fabric items are maintained with excellence and attention to detail.

What You'll Do

As our Seamstress, you will:

✂️ Construct, alter, repair, and maintain religious habits, veils, and garments

🧵 Measure and fit clothing for comfort, dignity, and proper appearance

🪡 Hem, mend, resize, patch, and customize garments to meet individual needs

🛏️ Repair and maintain personal clothing, bedding, linens, curtains, and other fabric items

🔘 Replace zippers, buttons, elastic, snaps, and other garment components

📦 Manage sewing supplies and maintain an organized workspace

🧰 Operate and care for sewing machines, sergers, pressing equipment, and related tools

🎉 Assist with special sewing projects for community events and liturgical celebrations

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Schedule flexibility to meet the needs of the Sisters
• The ability to collaborate with others in an efficient and kind manner
• Experience in sewing, alterations, garment construction, and repair
• Knowledge of fabrics, textiles, garment fitting, and pattern interpretation
• The ability to operate industrial and household sewing equipment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Excellent organization and time-management skills
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Professionalism, discretion, and a servant-hearted attitude
