Providence Preparatory Academy is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher to teach Pre-Algebra in a growing classical Christian school.  We are looking for a passionate educator who loves students, and desires to integrate biblical truth into every aspect of the classroom.

 Responsibilities and Duties:  

  • Integrate a biblical worldview into classroom instruction and model Christ-centered character through personal example. 
  • Inspire students through engaging Mathematics instruction while growing into additional science teaching opportunities and educational leadership as the school expands.
  • Teach Pre-Algebra using Saxon Math curriculum.
  • Utilize Socratic discussion and classical teaching methods
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic progress
  • Collaborate with administration and fellow faculty
  • Foster a classroom culture of excellence and discipleship

Required Qualifications:

  • Committed Christian actively involved in a local church  
  • Ability to communicate the Gospel clearly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Passion for teaching middle school students

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school degrees are considered, but a bachelor's degree in a field related to the course taught is preferred
  • Two years of teaching experience  
  • Experience with the classical model of education and classical curricula  
  • Proficiency in web-based school management software  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software  

Compensation  

Teacher salary is determined based on qualifications and experience. The rates are competitive with current pay rates for similar private education in the Wilmington Area. 

Salary: This position is open for one Pre-Algebra class with a total annual salary of $6,000 - $10,000; the school uses a base rate per class taught and considers experience, professional certifications, and education level. 

Benefits: This position currently does not include health or retirement benefits.  Providence offers a supportive faculty community, a collaborative work environment, and a flexible instructional schedule.

Schedule: Monday to Friday; only on campus for instruction on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
