5th Grade Teacher

Job Description

Calvary Lutheran School is seeking a passionate, caring, and Christ-centered educator to serve as our 5th Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster academic growth, spiritual development, and strong relationships with students and families while creating a positive and engaging classroom environment rooted in Christian values.

The 5th Grade Teacher will provide high-quality instruction across core subject areas while helping students develop responsibility, character, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of their identity in Christ.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with curriculum standards and school expectations
  • Create a safe, organized, and positive classroom culture that supports student learning and growth
  • Integrate Christian faith and values into daily instruction and interactions with students
  • Assess student learning regularly and use data to guide instruction and interventions
  • Communicate consistently and professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, and support staff to support student success
  • Maintain accurate student records, lesson plans, and grades
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and school ministry activities
  • Support and uphold the mission and values of Calvary Lutheran School

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required
  • Valid teaching certification preferred or ability to obtain certification
  • Experience teaching upper elementary students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student-centered learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Desire to model Christian faith, character, and professionalism in daily interactions
