Job Overview

IMPACT Latin America is seeking a mission-minded Development Director to advance our mission of multiplication and discipleship. We plant God’s peace in individuals, homes, and communities by engaging partners to equip Latin American leaders to multiply disciples, leaders, and churches.

The Development Director plays a strategic leadership role in achieving IMPACT’s annual ministry and revenue goals. In partnership with the Operations Director and leadership team, this individual will design and execute a comprehensive development strategy that engages individual donors, churches, and foundations. Through prayer, giving, and volunteer engagement, the Development Director will mobilize partners to equip and sustain Latin American leaders in disciple-making ministry.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to Christ, His Church, and His Cause; leading and serving out of intimacy with God maintained through spiritual practices both individual and corporate

  • Demonstrated cross-cultural competence, valuing people of other races and cultures as equals, willing and able to work collaboratively across cultures, honoring diverse leadership styles and work processes

  • Experience and proven success in fundraising or sales, and grant writing

  • Strong relational and interpersonal skills with donors, partners, staff and volunteers

  • Intrinsically motivated, able to work within an integrated interdependent team and support organizational strategy

  • Creative problem solver and collaborative team player

  • Strong English writing and public speaking skills

  • Experience developing printed & digital campaigns across multiple channels

  • Must possess a high level of computer literacy

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and able to learn and manage IMPACT’s CRM software, payment processor, Canva, and website navigation needs

  • Working knowledge of Spanish is highly valued

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred

  • Relevant professional experience and demonstrated fundraising results

Key Responsibilities

Donor Relations & Annual Giving

  • Manages an active portfolio of annual donors

  • Oversees stewardship journeys, sustaining monthly contributors

  • Engages in high impact correspondence through personal outreach (calls, meetings, written correspondence and handwritten notes)

  • Oversees and ensures timely, accurate processing of gifts and pledges across donation channels

  • Partners with the Operations Director to identify donors with major gift potential, grow new donor relationships and support their movement into higher level portfolios

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborates with the Operations Director to build the annual giving program plan

  • Defines revenue, donor count, acquisition, retention and engagement goals

  • Conducts donor research and relational mapping

  • Tracks progress and reports outcomes

Grants & Prospecting

  • Secures foundation funding by supporting 50% of annual budget through awarded grants

  • Researches, prepares, submits and manages letters of inquiry, grant proposals and required reporting

  • Works to reach fundraising goals and support program capacity

Events Management

  • Plans and coordinates fundraising events

  • Includes church presentations, donor-hosted gatherings, online events and signature IMPACT events

Marketing & Reporting

  • Works with the Communications team to develop audience-specific messaging, donor materials, digital communications, newsletters, campaign assets and timely gift acknowledgements

  • Supports storytelling and reporting by supervising an integrated communications plan that advances the Annual Development plan and aligns with IMPACT’s broader messaging and audience needs

Donor Database & Systems

  • Builds and maintains IMPACT’s donor database and related systems

  • Ensures accurate donor records, donor interactions and consolidated reporting

  • Manages database reporting to create data-driven indicators for cultivation, solicitation, financial reporting and donor journey

Volunteer Management

  • Facilitates the successful participation of staff, volunteers and donors in development efforts

  • Other duties as assigned in support of Operations Team goals

Preferred Knowledge of: 

 

  1. Canva

  2. Google Suite

  3. CRM Systems (such as Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or other).

  4. Mailchimp

  5. Google Ads

  6. Social Media Management (Meta, etc.). 

  7. WordPress Management

 

Working Relationships

  1. Reports to: IMPACT Operations Director.

  2. Supervises: Administrative Assistant, contract workers and volunteers as needed.

  3. Coordinates with IMPACT’s Latin American support leaders: communications team, prayer mobilizer, etc.

  4. Coordinates with and supports: IMPACT Executive Leadership Team – Executive Director, Operations Director and Latin America Field Director.

 

Terms:

  1. This is a full-time, remote, salaried position.

  2. Pay Band: 50,000 to 65,000/year.

  3. Salary depends on training and experience; payable monthly; no benefits.

  4. Flexible schedule with hours averaging 35-40 per week. Availability is needed on some evenings and weekends for fundraising events or other meetings. Available for at least one international trip each year.

  5. 10 days paid vacation (2 weeks).

  6. Employment is on an at-will basis, which means it may be terminated by either the individual or the organization at any time for any reason with no legal consequences.

Employee Requirements: 

 

  1. Up to 35% travel per year. 

  2. Reliable high-speed internet connection suitable for video conferencing

  3. Must be able to use personal mobile device for work. 

  4. Must have a personal designated office space. 

  5. Impact can provide a working laptop (if needed). 

  6. Ability to attend required virtual meetings and occasional in-person meetings.
