Assistant Retail Store Manager

Have you always wanted to work in a Christian Bookstore? We are looking for a full-time or part-time Assistant Retail Store Manager with the potential to grow into the manager. As the leading Christian Store in northeast Pennsylvania, we help Catholics and people of all Christian denominations live, share, and celebrate their faith.

We are looking for someone who is willing and able to be the key person when the owner is not present. This involves answering customer questions and coordinating with other employees about other work such as restocking, returns, and maintaining a attractive, clean, and orderly store.

The position entails proactively engaging with customers and providing a wonderful shopping experience. This requires great customer service skills, including patience and active listening to ensure our customers feel heard and helped.

The successful candidate will also have good time management skills to set realistic deadlines and follow specific steps to achieve time sensitive objectives.

As Assistant Manager, your daily tasks will vary greatly. You will help customers select gifts, books, and Bibles. You will need to help customers with a wide variety of products.  This requires maintaining knowledge of the store’s merchandise, and its exact location. You will need to be proficient using our computer to check stock and manage special orders too.

As Assistant Manager you will also need to creatively display new products after entering them into the database. We feature new items each month in our sale catalog, and these items need to be prominently displayed so customers can easily find them.   

Requirements:

At least 18 years of age

Minimum 3 years of Retail experience

Perform data entry on a computer

Stand for long periods of time

Lift and carry 30-pound boxes

Use a step ladder

Work the hours the store is open, including some Saturdays

High School Graduate
