POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Coordinator supports the advancement of BeMultiplied’s mission by strengthening donor engagement systems and foundation funding efforts. This role serves as the primary manager of the Virtuous CRM platform, expanding its use from basic data management to a more strategic tool through campaigns, automations, workflows, segmentation, and reporting that enhance donor engagement. In addition, the Development Coordinator supports foundation relations by managing existing partnerships, coordinating grant proposals and reporting processes, and assisting in the identification and cultivation of new foundation opportunities. This position requires a balance of strategic thinking and day-to-day execution, along with strong organizational, communication, and technical skills, and contributes to broader Development Team initiatives as needed, demonstrating a posture of flexibility, humility, and service.

We are looking for a team-oriented and service-minded individual who is passionate about supporting ministry through strong systems and thoughtful communication. The ideal candidate learns new technology quickly, enjoys improving systems, and is highly organized with strong attention to detail. They build positive relationships with team members and ministry partners, communicate effectively, and are eager to grow professionally. While experience in both CRM management and foundation fundraising is preferred, we are committed to helping the right candidate develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in this role. This is a part-time position scheduled for 25 hours per week. This position may be performed remotely or from our headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

The following statements describe the general nature and level of work expected in this role. They are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Specific duties may vary depending on assignment and ministry needs. 

  • Serve as the primary manager of the Virtuous CRM platform for the Development Team.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to expand and improve the use of Virtuous across the organization.
  • Develop and manage donor engagement campaigns within Virtuous, including segmentation and tracking.
  • Design and implement automations and workflows (e.g., donor journeys, follow-ups, and engagement flows).
  • Create dashboards and reports to track fundraising performance and donor engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date ministry partner records, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Support and train staff in effectively utilizing Virtuous for donor engagement and reporting.
  • Support foundation relations efforts by managing existing partnerships and coordinating proposal and reporting processes.
  • Prepare and submit grant proposals, renewal requests, and required reports.
  • Track grant deadlines and maintain a calendar of foundation-related requirements.
  • Conduct research to identify new foundation prospects and funding opportunities.
  • Support the development of foundation prospecting strategies and pipeline growth.
  • Collaborate with leadership and other team members to gather information needed for proposals and reports.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of foundation communications, proposals, and reporting.
  • Contribute to Development Team initiatives and projects as needed.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Development Team when needed.
  • Maintain clear, timely, and effective communication externally and internally with team, supervisor and other BeMultiplied staff and leaders.
  • Serve collaboratively as a member of the BeMultiplied global team, contributing to the ministry’s mission, culture, and shared objectives.
  • Participate in Thursday ministry gatherings (including prayer meetings and monthly department meetings), staff meetings, conferences, and training events as requested. Remote participation may be used when appropriate and with supervisor approval.    
  • In-person participation in BeMultiplied staff conferences and organizational gatherings is required based on the employee’s role and as determined by the supervisor.    
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned in support of BeMultiplied’s mission, strategic priorities, and global training initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Budget Responsibilities: This position supports fundraising tracking and reporting but does not have final budget authority.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities desired for the position:

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of one year working with a CRM system required (Virtuous preferred).
  • Experience building and managing campaigns, automations, workflows, and reporting systems within a CRM preferred, or wiliness to learn.
  • Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or related field preferred.
  • Grant writing or foundation relations preferred, or willingness to learn.

 Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • English language, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technology, systems, and responsibilities.
  • Interpersonal relations and customer service skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while also executing day-to-day operational responsibilities.

  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and database systems (CRM experience required).
  • Strong written communication skills for reporting, donor correspondence, and grant-related content.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and gather information from multiple stakeholders.

Mental Functions: Ability to read, analyze and interpret department reports and documents; respond to common inquiries from departmental relationships and community, and the ability to effectively present information as required.

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, see, and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently.   

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee will work primarily in the usual office environment. However, if travel is involved, there may be strenuous physical conditions (e.g. long flights, extreme cold/heat, extensive walking, lodging/meals in impoverished areas, poor or heightened security, etc.).
