This level of training enables us to offer effective solutions to break free from destructive patterns and embrace a healthy lifestyle. Our services include counseling for depression and anxiety, couples therapy to repair and strengthen relationships, children’s play and sand tray therapy, trauma therapy, and sexual addiction therapy for individuals and their partners who are recovering from betrayal trauma.

What You'll Do
As a Children's Therapist at Still Water Professional Counseling, you will:
Provide individual therapy to children experiencing trauma, anxiety, emotional challenges, behavioral concerns, grief, and other mental health needs.
Build trusting, supportive relationships with children and create a therapeutic environment where they feel safe, heard, and understood.
Use developmentally appropriate therapeutic approaches, including play therapy, child focused EMDR, and other evidence-based interventions.
Partner with parents and caregivers to help them better understand their child's needs and develop practical tools to support their child's emotional well-being.
Collaboratively develop individualized treatment goals and plans based on each child's unique experiences and needs.
Help children develop emotional regulation, coping skills, confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of safety.
Utilize trauma-informed approaches to support children as they process difficult or traumatic experiences.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation and treatment records.
Collaborate with other professionals and community resources when appropriate to support the whole child and family.
Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a collaborative practice culture.

Has experience or is willing to pursue training in trauma-informed care and children's mental health.
Believes in meeting children where they are developmentally and emotionally.
Is committed to providing high-quality, ethical, and compassionate clinical care.
Is licensed or eligible for licensure in Michigan in an appropriate clinical discipline.
