Purpose: The Oklahoma Baptist University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program invites applications for a pool of adjunct faculty to support our accelerated hybrid DPT curriculum. Adjunct faculty primarily teach on-site with required travel to Shawnee, Oklahoma, for laboratory immersions, practical examinations, simulations, and other program activities. This position is ideal for practicing clinicians who wish to maintain clinical practice while contributing to the education and professional formation of future physical therapists. Adjunct faculty members are essential to ensuring program quality, student success, and compliance with accreditation standards established by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Primary Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction
• Teach assigned courses across the DPT curriculum, which may include didactic coursework and/or laboratory as assigned
• Utilize evidence-informed and student-centered teaching methodologies.
• Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Participate in course assessment and evaluation.
Professional Responsibilities
• Support the mission, goals, and objectives of Oklahoma Baptist University and the DPT Program.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff, faculty, and students in the DPT Program.
• Conduct oneself in a positive and professional manner as a representative of the DPT Program and Oklahoma Baptist University.
• Adhere to all DPT Program policies and procedures.
• Participate in annual professional development activities that demonstrate continued education in the faculty member’s area of expertise.
Faith Integration
• Integrate faith and learning consistently with the mission of OBU.
• Model professional behaviors aligned with institutional values.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
• Current unrestricted PT license.
• Minimum one year of contemporary applicable clinical practice, expertise in assigned content area.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to travel for assigned laboratory immersions.
• Commitment to student success and collaborative teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
• ABPTS Board Certification (OCS, NCS, SCS, GCS, PCS, WCS, CCS, ECS) or other specialty certification.
• Residency and/or Fellowship training.
• Prior teaching experience in DPT education.
• Experience in hybrid or online graduate education.
• Expertise in simulation and clinical reasoning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an academic environment.
• Proficiency in instructional technologies and evidence-informed teaching practices.
• Demonstrate ability to adhere to the Core Values of the Physical Therapy profession.
Work Environment and Expectations
• Part-time appointment with teaching responsibilities.
• Compliance with all institutional policies and accreditation standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with students and faculty.

Reporting Structure
• Reports to the Program Director of the DPT Program.
Special Requirements:
• Must be a member of a local evangelical* Christian church.
*Evangelical is a broad term referring to segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.
