PART TIME JOB - 25 HOURS PER WEEK
Vision and Purpose of Position
The Church Administrative Assistant provides vital support to the church staff and congregation. In addition to routine administrative responsibilities, this position provides a warm welcome and responds to individual needs in a loving, confidential manner. The Administrative Assistant is committed to the church’s mission and vision.

- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Office administration experience
- Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management abilities
- Team player
- Detail oriented
- Flexible and able to adapt to change quickly
- Typing/keyboarding proficiency and strong editorial skills
- Adept with technology. Resourceful and motivated to implement and manage new software applications as needed (IPC is currently using Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Canva, Squarespace and Constant Contact).
- Proficiency with office equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Pastor and staff as requested
- Oversee and manage effective church communication
- Prioritize and manage church emails
- Answer telephone calls and assist/route callers as appropriate
- Prepare, sort, and distribute written correspondence
- Update and maintain church calendar
- Manage use of the church building
- Produce and maintain (type, edit, update, print, assemble and distribute) the following: Weekly church worship bulletins; Weekly e-newsletter; Online church directory; Seasonal devotional booklets, songbooks, etc.; Funeral programs; Annual meeting documents; Materials when IPC hosts Presbytery and Other support materials as necessary (e.g., for staff meetings, adult ed.)
- Maintain accurate and accessible records for: Church Database, Baptisms, Attendance, Church key distribution, Digital and physical filing systems and back up digital files as appropriate.
- Website Management
- Update and maintain web pages on Squarespace as needed for special events and programs
- Provide staff lead on IT planning and direction.
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Church office: Track office supplies and order items as needed
- Manage office equipment and work with tech support team and vendors/repair people.
