Holy Cross Christian School seeks an exceptional educational leader to serve as Vice Principal, a strategic leadership role dedicated to advancing the school’s mission to empower students to reach their full potential, live in Christian Faith, and serve others and our vision to serve as a model of exemplary christian education. The successful candidate will do this primarily through the avenue of our core values: Christian Discipleship, Academic Excellence, and Thriving Relationships. 

This position is designed for a visionary educator who believes that Christian education should stand among the very best academic institutions—forming students who think deeply, solve problems with ingenuity and integrity, lead courageously, and live faithfully.

Working in close partnership with the Principal, the Vice Principal will help shape a school culture where rigorous academics, vibrant faith, and thriving student life provide every student with an education that prepares them for success academically and in life.

The successful candidate will have the skills, knowledge, and commitment necessary to lead in an institution where the gospel is the foundation of a  transformational Christian education, through strong instructional leadership, culture building, and identifying and addressing challenges moving them towards opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Partner with school leadership to advance a rigorous and distinctive academic program and curriculum rooted in a Biblical worldview.

  • Support the development of a curriculum that integrates classical foundations of academic learning and future ready skills (collaboration, communication, creativity, collaboration, and character)

  • Promote interdisciplinary learning, real-world problem solving, and experiential opportunities that connect classroom knowledge with life beyond school.

  • Ensure high academic standards and measurable student growth across all grade levels.

  • Oversee the Exceptional Education Programming, ensuring a collaborative approach with students, staff, and teachers that fosters early detection and intervention, and ongoing support that allows students with exceptionalities to thrive and promotes and monitors the systems that support these students. 

Faculty Leadership & Professional Growth

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain exceptional educators who demonstrate both professional excellence and spiritual maturity.

  • Establish a culture of collective efficacy, instructional coaching, and continuous professional development.

  • Conduct meaningful classroom observations and provide opportunities for reflection as well as constructive feedback that strengthens teaching and learning.

  • Collaborate with HR to plan and implement professional learning based on the needs of faculty and staff and the overall goals of the school. 

Student Life - Culture and Spiritual Formation

  • Help cultivate a community where students grow spiritually, intellectually, and relationally. 

  • Encourage a culture marked by Discipleship where students and staff understand the gospel and demonstrate gospel-filled lives in their day to day interactions. 

  • Partner with faculty and chaplaincy leadership to support the spiritual life of the school.

  • Oversee the Out of School and Summer Camp Programs

  • Lead initiatives that position Holy Cross as a leader in innovative Christian education.

  • Introduce forward-thinking programs that prepare students for leadership and contributions in a rapidly changing society. 

  • Support the thoughtful integration of technology and emerging tools that enhance learning and engagement.

  • Oversee requests from teachers and club leaders for field trips and special events

Community Partnerships

  • Build and maintain community partnerships that promote the mission and vision of Holy Cross

  • Attend important community events that to establish Holy Cross as an integral part of the variety of communities it is a part of such as Independent Schools of South Florida, Schools United, Florida-Georgia District, Chamber of Commerce and others. 

 

Operational Excellence

  • Help implement systems that monitor student progress and ensure timely academic support.

  • Work closely with administrative teams and business office to maintain a safe, well-organized, and high-performing school environment.

  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts that strengthen the school’s long-term vision and impact.

  • In partnership with the Principal, Business Director, and the Board support  the development of the organizational; budget, staffing plans, org chart and other key documents

Candidate Profile

Holy Cross seeks a leader who combines educational expertise, spiritual maturity, and a deep commitment to excellence.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • A strong commitment to the mission and philosophy of Christian education.

  • Proven experience in academic leadership, instructional coaching, or school administration.

  • The ability to inspire faculty and students toward higher levels of achievement.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both faculty and families.

  • Ability to navigate with grace, love and professionalism to those around them regardless of challenges or circumstances

  • Strategic thinking and a passion for continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or related field

  • Florida Educators Leadership License or the Equivalent in another state with the ability to transfer based on current Florida Department of Education requirements.

  • Minimum of five years teaching experience  

  • Minimum of two years of leadership in a school setting.

  • Demonstrated success in strengthening academic programs and  school culture.

  • Active Member of a local Bible professing church

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Creole or Spanish

  • Experience overseeing the curriculum development

  • Supervisory/Team Management Experience

  • Experience in Urban Christian Education Environments
