Community Life Pastor (Family & Youth Focus)
The Community Life Pastor champions a vibrant, Christ-centered vision for children, youth, and families while cultivating meaningful connections within the broader community. This role collaborates closely with church staff, volunteers, and ministry teams to nurture faith formation at every stage of life and to develop innovative programs that engage and serve families both inside and outside the church.
As part of CrossPoint’s executive team, this position reports directly to the
Executive Director and the Vision Pastor.
Primary Focus: Youth, Children & Family Ministries
- Provide support, and vision for all family-focused ministries for Unite (youth ministry).
- Create a welcoming and engaging environment where children and students grow in faith, build relationships, and feel a strong sense of belonging.
- Recruit, train, and empower volunteer leaders to serve effectively in children’s and youth ministries.
- Design and lead weekly gatherings, special events, and community-based activities that connect youth and families to faith in relevant ways.
- Develop mentorship opportunities for students and parents, strengthening faith at home as well as at church.
- Maintain consistent, clear, and encouraging communication with families through multiple channels, including digital platforms.
- Oversee planning and leadership of mission experiences that are accessible and impactful for youth and families.
- Work closely with the Director of Children’s Ministry to coordinate ways to build both the children and youth programs.
Community Engagement & Program Development
- Develop and implement new, creative programs that meet the evolving needs of families in the surrounding community.
- Build strong relationships with local organizations, schools, and ministries to expand CrossPoint’s outreach and presence.
- Identify opportunities for family-centered events, service projects, and partnerships that invite community participation.
- Strengthen and expand existing outreach efforts while cultivating new initiatives that serve children, youth, and families.
Discipleship & Spiritual Growth
- Collaborate with the Director of Children’s Ministry to strengthen and align all children’s programming.
- Oversee and innovate discipleship pathways for all ages, with a special emphasis on family faith formation.
- Lead and support classes and experiences such as:
- Baptism and Membership
- Parenting and family enrichment
- Spiritual gifts and personal growth
- Small groups with a focus on family and intergenerational connection
Pastoral Leadership
- Partner with the Vision Pastor in shaping and advancing the church’s mission and vision.
- Provide engaging preaching, teaching, and leadership in worship and ministry settings as needed.
- Offer pastoral care and support to children, youth, and families during key life moments.
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader within the church and community.
Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities
- Oversee budgets related to family ministries and community outreach with wisdom and accountability.
- Utilize technology and social media to connect with families and promote ministry initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture among staff and volunteers.
- Bring fresh ideas, creativity, and innovation to ministry development and execution.
Skills & Qualifications
- Alignment with the theological beliefs and practices of CrossPoint Church.
- Demonstrated passion for children, youth, and family ministry.
- Strong leadership and relational skills, with the ability to recruit, equip, and inspire volunteers.
- Proven ability to develop new programs and engage the community effectively.
- Experience in pastoral care and ministry leadership.
- Creative, forward-thinking mindset with a heart for innovation.
- Proficiency with technology and communication tools; social media fluency preferred.
