Moore's Sanctuary A.M.E. Zion Church is a historic congregation in Charlotte, North Carolina, with roots reaching back to 1870, when it began as a brush arbor in the Sloan Quarters community during the years of Reconstruction. One of the first A.M.E. Zion churches established in Mecklenburg County, it has remained on its original site on Morris Field Drive for more than 150 years. The church takes its name from the Rev. Dublin Moore and Bishop John Jamison Moore, and belongs to the African Methodist Episcopal Zion denomination — historically known as the "Freedom Church."

Across generations of pastoral leadership, the congregation has grown from a small gathering meeting every other Sunday into an established church home, adding an educational wing, a fellowship hall, and the John I. Jackson Family Life Center along the way. Its history is closely tied to the surrounding community, including the legacy of the nearby Plato Price School, whose students became — and remain — leaders within the church.

From its earliest beginnings, Moore's Sanctuary has been a purpose-driven congregation centered on worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism, with a longstanding commitment to community outreach and social change. Today the church continues that mission, seeking staff and members who share its heritage of faith, service, and care for the wider community.
