First Congregational Church of Western Springs

Joined as a Congregation through the grace and teachings of Jesus Christ, we are called as disciples:

  • To worship God together in wonder and in faith;
  • To increase our love of God by increasing our love of neighbor;
  • To connect the stories and truths of Scripture with our daily lives;
  • To share our stories of faith with one another and our community;
  • To open our lives to the transforming power of God’s love;
  • To celebrate the liberation received through Christ’s forgiveness and to share that gift by forgiving others;
  • To follow Christ to the side of all who suffer and despair;
  • To be Christ’s messengers and advocates for social justice;
  • To be generous and thoughtful stewards of all of God’s gifts; and,
  • To welcome all people as children of God.

We invite all who wish to join us to share in the joys and challenges of this calling.

  • First Congregational Church is an Open & Affirming (ONA) congregation: it publicly affirms and welcomes individuals of all races, ethnicities, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, abilities, ages, socioeconomic statuses, family structures, and religious backgrounds to participate fully in the life, leadership, sacraments, and ministries of the church.

  • In July 2025, the church gained the UCC’s “Accessible to All (A2A)” certification for its efforts to make space inclusive and accessible to persons with disabilities.
