About the Church:
St. Rest Baptist Church, affectionately known as “The Church with the Open Door,” has stood as a pillar of the Shreveport (Allendale-Lakeside) community for over 130 years. We are a faith-driven, mission-minded congregation seeking a dedicated and energetic spiritual leader to shepherd us into our next season of ministry and growth.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Pastor with a heart for God’s people and a vision for spiritual, organizational, and community transformation. The successful candidate will bring biblical teaching, compassionate leadership, and strong administrative capabilities to foster continued growth and unity within our multigenerational congregation.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as a pastor or senior minister.

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or Seminary training strongly preferred.

Preaching & Communication:

Excellent communication skills with a passionate and engaging preaching style.

Ability to clearly articulate sound biblical truths in a relevant and applicable manner.

Theological Foundation:

Deep understanding of Baptist doctrine and scriptural principles.

Faithful to biblical authority and committed to Baptist traditions.

Leadership Abilities:

Demonstrated strengths in vision casting, strategic planning, team building, and conflict resolution.

Proven ability to lead, develop, and collaborate with ministry teams and staff.

Pastoral Care:

A shepherd’s heart with a commitment to providing pastoral support to individuals and families during life’s transitions and challenges.

Strong interpersonal and counseling skills.

Administrative & Financial Acumen:

Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Ability to manage budgets, oversee church operations, and ensure financial health and transparency.

Community Engagement:

Passionate about outreach, community involvement, and expanding the church’s local impact.

Willing to represent St. Rest Baptist Church in civic and interfaith activities.

Compensation:

Salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
