Position Summary:

The Children’s Ministry Pastor is a self-motivated leader responsible for the pastoring and leadership of the primary and elementary-age children of Fort Mill Church of God. The purpose of this position is to disciple children through the teaching of God’s Word so they can develop and mature in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  The Children’s Ministry Pastor will facilitate and oversee all children’s ministry opportunities throughout the week and on Sundays. This position will also coordinate special events such as Vacation Bible School, children’s activities, and more.

 

Children’s Ministry Pastor Responsibilities:

·        Oversee weekly children’s ministry operations.

·        Select and develop curriculum materials to create a Christ-centered atmosphere for all children’s programs.

·        Maintain a loving and safe environment for all children and their families.

·        Plan and facilitate children’s ministry drama and music programs.

·        Develop and maintain yearly budget for children’s ministry department.

·        Be available to counsel and pray with children and their families regarding spiritual matters.

·        Collaborate with lead pastor and pastoral care team on special projects.

·        Perform background checks on all volunteers.

·        Recruit, train, and equip children’s volunteers and group leaders.

·        Develop volunteer coordinators and team leaders for Sunday and midweek services:

o   Identify experienced ministry leaders and cast vision and goals.

o   Equip leaders and provide ongoing enrichment.

o   Establish appreciation opportunities.

o   Communicate vision, mission, and values of Fort Mill Church of God.

o   Ensure consistency in volunteer training.

o   Empower leaders with clear purpose and goals.

o   Engage parents through networking and training opportunities.

·        Actively promote and manage all social media outlets.

 

Qualifications:

·        Must have a vision and a demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and implement a successful children’s ministry.

·        Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Must possess a proven ability to work effectively with children, families, and a team of volunteers.

·        Must possess a 2–4-year degree in related field.

·        Maintain a continued growth of individual calling and walk with the Lord through personal Bible study, prayer, and ministry conferences/training opportunities.
