Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches

Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches is a non-profit Christian organization with four Ranch locations in Alabama. Our goal is to provides loving, Christian homes to at-risk children ages 6-18 facing crisis situations.

Children come to us from a variety of backgrounds including foster care, referrals, and private placements. At the Ranches, each child is immediately welcomed into a loving family with peers and surrogate parents. In addition to providing for their basic needs, the Ranches ensure each child receives a good education, tutoring, and counseling as need. We try to give them as normal a childhood as possible, and each child attends local public school, a local church, and can participate in any hobbies or extracurricular activities they find interesting (sports, music, arts, youth group, and school clubs). In their home on the Ranch, they learn the basics of good hygiene, healthy habits, responsibility through household chores, and vocational skills such as lawncare, livestock care, and cooking basics. Once a Rancher turns 16, we help them learn independent living skills such as driving, car maintenance, financial literacy, maintaining a job, etc. Once they graduate, they can enter our college program which helps them finance and achieve their goals for higher education or vocational training. Our ultimate goal is to provide loving Christian homes that nurture their growth and to teach them how to become successful adults and responsible citizens. On the Ranches, our children find loving stable homes and a family as well as healing and hope for a bright future they never dreamed possible. Over the years, the Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches have made an impact in the lives of over 6,000 children right here in Alabama.
