EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

AFICC, a USA-based non-profit that works in partnership with International China Concern and is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the organization to the next stage of growth. With a 27-year history of working in China, ICC is a leader in developing effective approaches to caring for children with disabilities. AFICC desires a candidate with a heart for China, disabilities, and family preservation, as well as proven fundraising and leadership skills.

THE ROLE DESCRIPTION

The ideal candidate will have managerial experience in the Non-Profit sector, innovative fundraising ability, and a talent for motivating teams. This person knows how to set goals, design strategies, and meet targets. The successful candidate will share AFICC’s values of integrity, innovation, and collaboration. In addition to running a small, effective team, this person will maintain close contact with our projects in China and develop a network of advocates and partners in the USA. Duties include drafting budgets, developing fundraising campaigns and overseeing donor relations. As the face of the organization, the Executive Director will make public appearances and engage with major donors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

Organizational Leadership

  • Provide overall leadership to the AFICC office and be accountable for the overall performance of the organization.
  • Develop a comprehensive organizational strategy for team building, coaching, personal development, and staff care.
  • Hold the staff team accountable to performance related outcomes in line with the Strategic Plan of the organization, through a process of regular feedback and annual performance evaluations.
  • Ensure effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting on all organizational initiatives.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of adequate operational systems, procedures and controls for the organization.
  • Support the AFICC board of directors, advising the board on planning, policies, programs, finances and all other related matters.

Donor Development

  • Build the AFICC donor and volunteer base with individual donors, church partners, major donors and corporate
  • Engage strategically in activities that expand the financial capacity of the organization, including donor meetings, insight trips, public speaking engagements, and events.

Key Skills/Abilities /Experience

  • Passion for China and children with disabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience in fundraising and donor development.
  • The ability and flexibility to work cross-culturally.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with managing a team.
  • Understanding of donor-centric communications for the purpose of donor acquisition, fundraising and donor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3 years minimum experience in a leadership role with a faith-based charity in donor management and
  • Candidate must be in agreement with Statement of Faith and seek to live a Christian life that brings glory to
  • Able to travel within the US and

WORKING LOCATION

Depending on the person hired, the role will require the flexibility to be able to work from home and the ability to manage staff remotely. Currently, staff are located in Pennsylvania, California and Washington State.
