Job Summary The Business Manager of Finance and Operations provides analytical decision support to guide effective use of the organization’s assets and resources. This role is responsible for business analysis, contract management and team administration. The CFO organization includes finance, accounting, supply chain management, legal, real estate and hospitality. The Business Manager serves as a key member of the CFO leadership team, ensures that the team’s processes meet high standards of operational excellence, and enables Awana’s executive leaders to focus on driving strong ministry outcomes. Job Responsibilities Business analysis (30%): Scrutinize the performance of a third-party fulfillment service provider. Analyze trends and future projections of sales and inventory. Recommend pricing, strategic purchases and opportunities to senior leadership. Contract management (30%): Facilitate workflow between contract owners, legal counsel and accounting. Flag renewal dates and establish a cross-functional team to review pricing and terms. Plan for and participate in vendor negotiations. Team development (10%): Lead the CFO team’s peer recognition program. Orchestrate quarterly all-hands town halls and team building activities. Encourage and monitor progress and development plans and talent/succession planning. Administration (10%): Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings/calendar planning, processing travel receipts, planning meeting agendas, ordering catering, and tracking training. Board of Directors preparation (10%): Draft agendas and create presentations for the board of director meetings. Update policies and follow-up on legal and financial related items. Other (10%): Partner with IT team to request/track/test technology enhancements. Various projects that track/change/improve financial performance of Awana. Provide back-up support with CFO team during high peak times. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline. Concentration in Accounting, Finance or Operations preferred. 5+ years of experience financial analysis or operations management desired. Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Point desired. Comfortable using various systems and databases to obtain data. Key Competencies Proficient at analyzing and interpreting financial statements, data and metrics. Effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one or small group situations. Ability to respond to inquiries, with accurate data, from senior executives, customers, donors and other constituents using multiple methods. Spiritual Life Must be born-again Christian. Must have personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and live life in alignment with the Word of God as set forth in our Doctrinal Statement. Must be in fellowship with the body of Christ through active commitment to local church. Physical Demands/Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
