Part-Time Technical Director If you have a passion for leading and directing worship through Production Technology, New Hope Church is looking for YOU! Located in Wayne, Michigan, New Hope Church has over 500 members in regular Sunday worship, and is committed to connecting people to Jesus and to each other. We believe that audio, video and lighting can be an excellent enhancement to worship and aid in bringing people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The part-time Technical Director (TD) will oversee all aspects of live production and assist the New Hope Production Team with a creative vision to enhance the services at New Hope Church –Wayne. Areas of focus will include audio engineering, video broadcast, and some lighting. The TD will also be responsible for recruiting and mentoring volunteers to man all positions needed for a given event or worship service. This positon will be primarily located at our Wayne, Michigan campus. Preparing and Producing Live and Creative Technology: 2-3 hours a week—more during special events. 2. Participating in meetings/training: 3 hours a month. (i.e. Media Ministry and Leadership Monthly Meetings) Responsibilities/Duties Serves as an encourager and mentor to the Production Team Volunteers and is able to fill in at any position, when needed, for Sunday Worship Services, band rehearsals, Vacation Bible Study, and special events. Responsible for all camera operations, live streaming, audio mixing, videotaping, etc. Possess an “artistic ear and eye” that will facilitate the highest level of audio and visual service from week to week. Functions collaboratively with worship leaders, media coordinators, and social media team members to ensure a consistent branding of our church culture and message. Responsible for assisting the Senior Pastor and Operations Manager with all technical operations including, but not limited to, system design, integration, upgrade, purchase and maintenance of systems. Leadership Requirements: Provides leadership as well as training for volunteers and other Production Team members. Recruit and manage a core team of production volunteers. This position will report to executive pastor, campus pastors, and director of operations. Children’s Director New Hope Church, Wayne, Michigan is located in Detroit metropolitan area. We have approximately 1,500 members, offer two Sunday worship services, and sponsor over twenty-five ministries. The ideal candidate for Children’s Director will be characterized by a love for Christ, a passion to see children impacted by the gospel, and a support for the vision, mission and plans for New Hope Church. We are looking for a Children’s Director committed to providing children with a true Sunday worship experience and opportunities to learn the Gospel and serve in ministry. Our mission is, “Connecting People to Jesus and to Each Other.” Description of Responsibilities: Work with the Senior Pastor and Minister of Music to plan, design and lead dynamic, inviting weekly young children's worship experience, which teaches and proclaims the Good News of Jesus Christ to all young children. Work with Children’s Church Musician and volunteers to direct a smooth and professional atmosphere to conduct worship service. Work with the Children/Youth Ministry Team volunteers to plan and offer opportunities to serve in mission projects, children/youth flag, dance and mime ministries, fellowship outings/events, and recreation. Manage volunteers that are responsible for admitting and releasing children from the worship services and children/youth bible study, and outings/events. Attend regular planning and development meetings with Children/Youth Ministry Team volunteers and church staff. Manage the development, production and distribution of all forms of children’s church and children/youth activities marketing materials (bulletins, social media, web postings, mailings, signage, flyers, brochures, logos, etc.), as directed by the Senior Pastor. Develop, implement and maintain a resource management tool (books, magazines and newspaper articles, etc.) in support of children’s church sermon development. Setup and maintain filing systems as needed to manage children’s church and children/youth ministry membership and contacts Work with Children’s Church Musician, Children/Youth Ministry Team, and other church staff, as required to plan and develop annual children’s/youth day, Easter and Christmas programs, musicals, as well as Vacation Bible School. Recruit families/children to participate in our church events and activities with the goal of integrating children into regular church attenders/members. Qualifications: Christian with a love for children and youth. The Children’s Director must have 2-3 years’ experience planning, designing and directing an inviting, loving and celebratory worship services for children and Bible study and ministry opportunities for children and youth. AA/BA degree in education, human service or related filed is required. Seminary training helpful. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing is required. The ability to work 15-20 hours a week: oversight of youth rehearsals on Saturday mornings, and attend two (2) worship services on Sundays, Monday evening Bible Study, and monthly meetings. Willingness to grow in faith and attend selected training as approved by Senior Pastor. Experience leading and working effectively with volunteers is preferred. New Hope Church, Wayne, Michigan has planted a church in Taylor, Michigan and needs a part-time Music Ministry Director. One Church, Two Locations! The New Hope Church, Taylor campus will offer one Sunday worship service at 9:30 a.m. and will be open from 7:30 a.m. until noon. Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays. February – April schedule involves co-serving at Wayne campus with music team. Primary Responsibilities: Lead the direction and delivery of music teams (adults and children) and musicians for the all New Hope Church – Taylor worship services and ministry events; including music preparation, song selection, and rehearsals. Conduct weekly rehearsals with praise teams/choirs; teaching music to band and choirs to ensure full preparation of all church services and ministry events. Prepare and conduct additional rehearsals with musicians as needed. Direct or designate a director for each choir, worship service, song or ministry event. Lead, set, and manage expectations for choir and musicians. Attend and provide music during all on-site New Hope Church worship services and events, including but not limited to Sunday Worship Services and special occasions (i.e. Good Friday, Vacation Bible School, and Watch Night/Easter/Christmas services) and any funerals and weddings, as requested or necessary. Attend Pastor’s monthly scheduled Leadership Team Meetings to provide input in the advancement of the music ministry, and assist in planning congregational services or activities. Prepare, present and effectively administer a detailed vision and budget for the music ministry. Mentor and develop musical, directing and leadership talents of those in the New Hope Church Music Ministry. Coordinate the music program with the annual church calendar. Actively encourage and recruit members and friends of the New Hope Church community to participate in the music ministry. Conduct music workshops to further educate and develop New Hope Church voices and musicians. Manage the maintenance and repair of instruments in concert with Pastor or designated office personnel. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Pastor. Essential Qualifications: The Music Ministry Director must see this position as a ministry to and with the people of New Hope Church. A willingness to grow in faith in this position is a requirement. Education/Experience: Minimum of a High School diploma or Bachelors Degree, preferred. Education, training, or knowledge in music theory, preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in leading choirs or praise teams. Knowledge, ability and experience playing, teaching and directing multiple genres of worship/gospel music (traditional, contemporary, hymns, spirituals, anthems, etc.) Experience leading special music events (Christmas and Easter services, Vacation Bible Study, etc.) Compassionate and shepherding qualities in working with people.
