Participate as part of the association’s leadership team and represent center to the YMCA Board of Directors. Actively maintain positive donor and member relations. Help to identify and develop potential donors. Significantly participate in the development and accountability of long range planning and goals for the center and the Association. Develop and maintain positive relationships with community leaders including, but not limited to, those in business, church, nonprofit and government. Maintain high levels of guest service and programming to ensure Mission delivery to our members, families, groups, youth, staff, and volunteers. Plan, prioritize, and oversee capital building projects. Negotiate agreements with outside concessionaires for the center, subject to approval by CEO or CFO. Oversee safety program and procedures at the center to provide a safe experience for guests, campers, staff and volunteers. Serve as staff liaison for Buildings & Grounds, Land Use Committee of the Board of Directors. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years management experience in hospitality, YMCA, camping or conference center operations. Possess (or actively seek) and maintain Organizational Leader certification through the YMCA of the USA. Possess a valid, USA state-issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles. Possess stamina to work in the environment described herein. This is an executive leadership team position that will focus on strategic leadership, staff development, and organizational development.  Strategic Leadership Provide leadership and direction to staff across ministry departments empowering them to deliver campus wide ministry in alignment with Beulah’s vision, mission and values. Maritime Operations & Standards Manager Featured
Are you experienced in multiple aspects of maritime operations and want to make a difference in people’s lives through providing safe, reliable vessel operations, timely maintenance, and capable staff? Do you have experience in developing standards and operation procedures? Are you able to direct, lead, and supervise teams? JAARS Maritime Services is implementing and expanding comprehensive, on-field water safety and operations, including the use of 14’ to 40’ sized boats. Be part of providing Bible translation workers with the training, equipment and potential vessel they need to survive as they travel on various waterways, as well as on larger regional vessels JAARS provides. Brief Description Develop and implement JAARS maritime standards and operations to assure work is done in a sustainable, safe, and reliable manner for Waxhaw and field locations.  This is a full time (40 hrs.) position for a volunteer or a staff person who raises support Must be able to work in the US   Responsibilities Analyze, develop, and implement a marine standards and operations program Establish worker, vessel, and shop building operations and maintenance procedures Implement and direct best practices in effective maintenance, vessel dockside, and material safe handling Administer procedures for ocean and personal safety, search and rescue, emergencies and crisis management Achieve and ensure conformance of above objectives are carried out expeditiously within the commitment parameters Participate with management team to plan and analyze alternative approaches Organize, document, manage records, and assist in development of written procedures and manuals Coordinate with the department’s Training Coordinator to achieve effective and recurring training of staff Supervise and or coordinate staff activities Demonstrate a deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS, and help us live them effectively Education and Experience Two or more years’ experience with an adequate combination of working in marine functions including boating safety, marine project development and both office and boat operations Experienced in team development and supervision Standard computer and business skills JAARS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian ministry headquartered on a beautiful 500+ acre campus just south of Charlotte, NC.
