This is a 20 to 40 hour per week position for a volunteer or a staff person who raises support
Must be able to work in the US
Perform various basic maintenance repairs and tasks in buildings and grounds.
Perform basic tasks and preventative maintenance
Apply basic fixes and repairs to equipment and building systems
Repair machines, equipment, or structures
Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment and systems
Check electrical wiring to identify issues
Collaborate with workers and other professionals on projects
Report issues found to the maintenance manager
Complete and record job tickets daily
Be reliable, with a keen eye for detail
Demonstrate a deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven maintenance experience
Skilled in using hand and electrical tools
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
Ability to read blueprints/drawings and repair manuals
Good organizational, time management, and follow up skills
Very good communication and interpersonal skills
JAARS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian ministry headquartered on a beautiful 500+ acre campus just south of Charlotte, NC. Our campus includes extensive training facilities, an airport, office and commercial facilities, guest housing, food services, recreational areas, health clinic, on-site childcare, and youth and family ministry support for staff and partners.
We are pleased to have more than five hundred people serving on our campus. We partner closely with SIL International, the organizations of the Wycliffe Global Alliance and other organizations locally and globally.

There are nearly 600 million people in the world with little or no access to Scripture in the language they know best, their heart language. JAARS is here to do something about that.

We need more staff to make in possible. Of those who work at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, N.C., 50% are volunteers either short- or long-term, full- or part-time, and of all ages and training backgrounds. Missionaries and a few paid personnel round out the staff.
