Lives Under Construction (LUC) Boys Ranch is a residential treatment program for at-risk boys between the ages of 7 and 18. Our program is designed to enable boys to become productive, law-abiding, respectful young men through a balanced Christ-centered program of academics, vocational training, and good old-fashioned hard work. Because the boys that we work with come from a variety of backgrounds, LUC staff members need to be servant-minded, consistent in enforcing the program through structure and discipline, calm and kind during stressful situations, committed to instilling habits that lead to later success, and dedicated to seeing projects through to completion

Job Description

Working during the late evening or overnight hours, performing tasks like inventory management, cleaning, security checks, production monitoring, often requiring the ability to work independently, maintain focus during late hours, and be detail-oriented while managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously; may include restocking shelves, performing quality checks, monitoring equipment, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a clean and secure work environment. 

  • Maintain cleanliness in dormitory.
  • Hold boys accountable for following evening and morning schedule
  • Ensure the safety of the boys during overnight hours
  • Perform minor repairs.
  • Administer medications in the mornings and evenings.
  • Give over-the-counter medications if resident is ill (once certified in medication   administration)
  • Perform bed checks during the night
  • Perform security checks on the grounds at varying times (if two overnight staff present)
  •  Monitor breakfast preparation
  •  Perform room cleaning checks in the morning
  • Feed boilers for heat (when applicable)
  • Be alert to any trouble.

 Job Qualifications

  • Willing and able to work with strong-willed boys
  •  Be at least 21 years of  age
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Medication certification preferred – but Ranch can give training
  • Work a minimum of 40-50 hours per week and be available to the needs of the boys.
  •  The typical shift runs 9pm to 7:15am, during which the staff must remain awake.
  • Have a valid driver's license  

 NOTE:  Other duties and assignments not included under this job description may also be expected.
