ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

Life House Ministries (LHM) is a 501©3 Christian Nonprofit serving single moms affected by homelessness, domestic violence, teen pregnancy or loss of a spouse. Our mission is “Through education and empowerment, we equip single moms to raise healthy children, overcome financial hardship and heal from past trauma.” We offer a weekly meal and Support Group consisting of Life Skill Instruction, meet tangible needs, and provide mentoring to single moms with little-to-no support from friends or family. The majority of our funding comes from individuals, churches and businesses.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Part-Time Marketing & Development Manager will work closely with the Executive Director to guide and execute a strategy for Life House Ministries (LHM) branding, public relations, fundraising and external marketing.  This professional ensures that the messaging delivered through LHM is clear and concise, communicates the challenges facing the fatherless in our society today and accurately reflects the organizations core distinctives of community, redemption and hope re-imagined.

The successful candidate will be self-starting and resourceful, will work well with small teams, and enjoy shared decision-making. The individual will be excited about the potential for growth, both in their professional development and in the organization. They will also possess a strong desire to expand LHM services to include a residential program in the future. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential financial supporters through personal connections via phone, digital correspondence and in-person meetings and gatherings.

·       Work with Executive Director to manage all fundraising events, including but not limited to, an annual Fall Benefit. Supervise and ensure the recruitment, training and coordination of the Benefit Committee and Fundraising Event Volunteers.

·       Design, implement and evaluate marketing and communication strategies, including: Newsletters & Brochures, Email Campaigns, Social Media, or Printed Advertising

·       Help identify opportunities in the community, particularly corporate and political connections, to further the mission and goals established by the LHM Board of Directors.

·       Promote and articulate communications regarding the LHM sustainer giving program known as “The Village”.  Invite individuals, churches and businesses to Join The Village.

·       Grow, expand and maintain all mailing and contact lists.

·       Attend occasional marketing and development trainings, as time allows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·       Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with LHM’s Statement of Faith.

·       Be passionate about helping single moms and fatherless children overcome trauma.

·       Bachelor’s Degree is NOT required, however a combination of education and/or work experience which indicates the ability to perform essential functions of the position is required.

·       Minimum 2 years of development, fundraising or management experience for a nonprofit.

·       Exhibit exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to facilitate meaningful connections with donors, volunteers, clients and staff. Public speaking ability is required.

·       Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize workload independently to meet deadlines and achieve monthly goals.

·       Computer Skills: MS Word and Excel required.

·       Experience with Canva, MailChimp, a CRM, and Clover Website platforms is a bonus.

·       Valid Washington State driver’s license and ability to travel to offsite meetings.
