New Life International School is a small Christian school serving elementary through high school students in Japan. Our mission is "Quality Christian English education in a safe, loving family atmosphere." We seek a math and science secondary Christian school teacher starting April 2025. All teachers teach Bible classes and pray with their students daily. Most of the students are not Christians and have never been exposed to the Bible.
The teacher's duties include teaching from 8:50 to 3:30, with breaks, Monday through Friday, writing weekly lesson plans, attending teacher meetings, and helping with research for accreditation work. The teacher is expected to love math and science and want to share that love with their students while maintaining a warm environment. The hours are 8:30 to 4:00, Monday to Friday, 183 days of teaching a year, plus six days of teacher professional development and parent meetings. There are other ministry opportunities, such as teen Bible clubs. Every day is filled with laughter at our school. The students are fun-loving, hard-working, sincere, and a joy to teach. If you have a passion for teaching and a heart for God, this job is for you!

Benefits
Besides the feeling of making a real difference in the lives of your students in a Christian school, our school pays for half of the health Insurance and national pension, regular raises (every two years), annual bonuses, free tuition for dependent children, great hours, long vacations, flexibility in teaching styles, professional development, and a sense of purpose.
Note: The yen-to-dollar rate makes the salary seem much lower than it is. The salary is the same or better than the JET program, especially considering the days off. Rent is very reasonable in Yamanashi, from 30,000 yen to 70,000 yen.
The valley of Kofu in Yamanashi is surrounded by beautiful mountains, and the view of Mt. Fuji never gets old! It's a quiet lifestyle with lots of nature.
