Position Overview: The Dispatch Assistant will work closely with our dispatcher. This person will be interacting with our drivers & customers on a daily basis. A great way to get your foot in the door and grow your position.

Essential Functions

·        Assist dispatch where needed and be able to cover for the dispatcher when dispatcher is                   unavailable

·        Maintain good customer service relationships by utilizing sound communication regarding               load status

·        Communicate professionally, effectively, and timely with customers/suppliers and co-workers

·        Utilize ELD equipment and dispatching software

·        Process billing

·        Perform additional duties assigned by the Management Team

Qualifications

·        Analytical, logical thinker with the ability to think two steps ahead

·        Ability to communicate well with others

·        Detail oriented

·        Strong organizational skills

·        Excellent problem solving skills

·        Be able to multi-task and maintain control while continuously making improvements

·        Ability to work in a high volume, high pressure, deadline-orientated environment

·        Be able to prioritize tasks based on urgency of need

·        Knowledge of the transportation industry preferred but not required
