Shelton Christian Church is seeking a dynamic pastor for full-time ministry. Shelton Christian Church is a small non-denominational Christian church in Mason County in the southern Puget Sound region of Washington State. Shelton is a community that has a small-town feel, while being surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains; offering abundant outdoor recreation and activities.
The Pastor will be responsible to be a spiritual leader and shepherd of the congregation. He will also be meeting with members of the congregation to help bolster everyone’s faith or overcome significant life changes.

Pastor Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a new family member with spiritual maturity reflecting the character of Christ in both his private and public life. A man with a passion for the edification and growth of God's Church through the preaching of His Word. A man with the God-given abilities to communicate meaning and insight from Scripture in a way that connects with the congregation and effectively leads to learning, understanding, and application.
We are particularly interested in a man who is sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and will serve as a member of the Board of Elders with the main responsibilities of the pulpit ministry; officiating at special occasions in the lives of the congregation, such as weddings, baptisms and funerals, and collaborate with the Elders in the administration of the bylaws, policies and procedures. While integrating as a member of the body of Christ, show commitment to fulfill the Great Commission and will support and encourage the church's ministries including Biblical counseling services.
Pastor Characteristics & Qualifications
· Demonstrated experience with and an excellent communicator of the entirety God’s Word
· Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to reflectively listen
· Demonstrated experience developing fellowship of the body of Christ
· Demonstrated experience leading prayer, outreach, and visitation
· Demonstrated experience with discipling and mentoring showing the ability to disciple, teach and shepherd members of the church community
· Demonstrated experience developing individuals personal growth in God
· Fulfill the scriptural qualifications of a leader found in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
· Willingness to engage the local community and support of Shelton Christian Church’s ministries and missions
· Ministry experience preferred but not required.
· Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
· Prefer minimum of 3 years’ experience in effective Biblical teaching, preaching in a ministry role
· Bachelor’s degree is preferred/recommended from a Christian college/university (restoration movement school preferred)
· Seminary degree or equivalent education is preferred/recommended
· Documented track record of leading and working with ministry team members, staff and congregation
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
· Recognize the Biblical qualifications of Elder/Pastor as stated in 1st Timothy
· Ability to work with and for the church Elder Board
· Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills through authenticity, energy, and passion for ministry and people
· Demonstrate strong leadership skills including ability to articulate mission/vision
· Ability to collaborate with staff and church Elder Board to develop goals and execute plans to achieve them
