The Mt. Introduction: Mt. Carmel Baptist Church is an established church congregation, located on a major thoroughfare near downtown Yonkers, New York. The church is eagerly seeking a shepherd to lead and guide its flock with vision, compassion, wisdom, and a deep commitment to faith. This pastoral profile outlines the qualities and characteristics desired in the ideal candidate to join and provide pastoral leadership to our church family.

Congregation Background: Mt. Carmel Baptist Church is an established Baptist Church in the Yonkers community organized in 1892. The congregation is predominantly African American and has had a long history of spiritual vitality and positively impacting the community. In recent years the church has experienced a decline in growth and graying of the membership due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the change in the ethnic composition of the community surrounding the church. We are committed to seeking renewal and revitalization to continue to serve as a vibrant community of faith ministering to the needs of individuals, families, and the community.  

Vision and Mission: We want to be a church that is growing and moving forward with God.  We seek to carry out the Great Commission to reach the unsaved and grow the kingdom of God.

4. Collaborative Spirit: We value teamwork and cooperation, and we are looking for a Pastor who can work collaboratively with our staff, lay leaders, and volunteers to achieve our shared goals and objectives. 

5. Community Engagement: Our church is deeply committed to serving our local community, and we are seeking a Pastor who shares this passion and is eager to engage with community partners and stakeholders to address pressing social needs and issues.
