Church Communications Coordinator
· Hours: ~20/week, Sunday to Thursday 8am-noon
· Starting ~ASAP
· 8+ weeks
· Jacksonville, FL (Mandarin area)
· Reports to: Senior Pastor
I. Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for preparation of regular church communications
· Weekly announcement email
· Monthly Newsletter
· Basic website updates
· Social Media updates
II. Prepare Sunday morning communications
· Bulletins
· Slides (welcome, music lyrics, announcements)
· Brochures
· Signage
· Photography
· Video production as needed
III. Assist as needed in the sound/video booth on Sunday mornings
IV. Create all materials requested by staff in support of their ministries (children’s ministry, student ministry, music ministry, groups & classes, etc.)
V. General administrative support as needed
VI. Attend weekly staff meetings
Skills and Qualifications
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Writing engages readers and is grammatically faultless
· Demonstrates attention to detail
· Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment
· Professional communicator; proficient in public relations and/or marketing skills
· Experience in website maintenance
· Demonstrates copywriting and editing skills
· General understanding of photography/videography, print production, traditional and digital media
· Proficient in technology such as ProPresenter, Planning Center, social media platforms, word processing software, and print applications
