Job Description

Fundraiser/Marketing Associate Job Description

Favor International is seeking an experienced US-based fundraiser to grow a culture of giving among US partners to support our indigenous missionary movement overseas. This Fundraising Associate will advance Favor’s mission through implementing a hands-on, ground-up, and relationship-focused fundraising cultivation strategy. As part of a US-based, foreign-focused virtual team, the fundraiser will report to the US Executive Director and Favor’s founder and International Director Carole Ward, who lives in the field we serve among war-affected communities of Uganda and South Sudan.

The Fundraising Associate leads partners in discovering their unique link to the vision and ways they can contribute. This role requires regular thanking, reporting, and asking among existing and new partners. Experience in both capital campaigns and personal relationship development are required. Developing both short-term and long-term advancement strategies will be expected. Opportunities to develop branding and lead a small development team will become available to advance an exciting mission. Favor currently has stable funding and is poised for immediate growth.

The Marketing Director will work 75% of time in direct fundraising activities, including travel (thanking, reporting, asking), and 25% in fundraising administrative support (all other work that supports relationship cultivation).

About Favor International:

Favor was birthed by prayer in 2002 by Ugandans and founder Carole Ward in the midst of civil war with Joseph Kony and the LRA to see God’s transformation of leaders and the region. Through God’s miraculous proliferation of the Gospel, discipleship, and mobilized public prayer movements, the previously-unconquerable child soldier armies of the LRA self-evacuated and led to an uneasy peace by 2006. The LRA’s highest general, who converted to Christianity and attended Favor’s Bible school, credited one of Favor’s specific prayer gatherings for ending the war.

In the midst of post-war development in northern Uganda and 50+ years of civil in South Sudan, Favor facilitates sustainable national transformation in both countries in five main ways:

  1. Discipling individuals and communities through radio, education, and leadership training.
  2. Bringing portable theological training and aid to rural areas.
  3. Facilitating physical church construction projects that reflect the “building up” of healthy congregations centered on the Word and prayer.
  4. Caring for orphans, widows, and prisoners, who God is using to raise future generations on Kingdom values.
  5. Setting up houses of prayer, prayer altars, and regional prayer events.
