Position Summary
One of our greatest needs in missionary aviation today is aircraft mechanics. Providing aviation services as a transportation solution for missions directly impacts the spread of the gospel around the world. As an aircraft mechanic you will ensure aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition and available for dispatch, meeting the demands of busy mission flight schedules.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance and inspections
- Respond to unscheduled maintenance needs
- Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations
- Comply with JAARS Repair Station maintenance practices and procedures
- Participate in the JAARS continuing maintenance training programs
- Maintain a professional knowledge base of acceptable manufacturers’ practices and procedures
Position Requirements
- A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth

- Holds ICAO / FAA qualifying licenses or certificate(s) to maintain airframe and powerplants appropriate to the country in which certified

There are nearly 600 million people in the world with little or no access to Scripture in the language they know best, their heart language.
JAARS makes Bible translation and language development possible, especially in the most remote places on earth. We do that by enabling locally appropriate and sustainable solutions in transportation, technology, media and training.
We need more staff to make that possible. Of those who work at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, N.C., 50% are volunteers either short or long term, full or part time, and of all ages and backgrounds. Missionaries and a few paid personnel round out the staff.
