Position Summary
Assist the Multi-Generational Engagement (MGE) Director with implementation and development of initiatives to engage demographically diverse audiences in the task of supporting Bible translation.
Position Responsibilities
· Manage registrations and onboarding of program participants
· Assist in the development and implementation of new, as well as current multi-generational programs, including, but not limited to: CrossVenture and Passport to Missions
· Assist with program messaging, promotion and growth
· Communicate with volunteers for program staff
· Facilitate programs for participants
Position Requirements
· A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
· Embrace the vision, mission and core values of JAARS
· High school graduate
· Program development and marketing experience helpful
· Volunteer or supported, unpaid
· Outgoing and collaborative personality; Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills, including individual and group presentations, in person and by phone
· Well-developed balance of goal orientation and sensitivity to people
· Self-directed, problem solving, high ownership mentality
· Creative, flexible and proactive approach to planning and implementation
· Google Suites proficiency (experience with Microsoft also helpful); Familiar with online document design tools such as Canva, Lucidpress, etc.
· Two years cross-cultural experience and two years student ministry experience preferred
There are nearly 600 million people in the world with little or no access to Scripture in the language they know best, their heart language.
JAARS makes Bible translation and language development possible, especially in the most remote places on earth. We do that by enabling locally appropriate and sustainable solutions in transportation, technology, media and training.
We need more staff to make that possible. Of those who work at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, N.C., 50% are volunteers either short or long term, full or part time, and of all ages and backgrounds. Missionaries and a few paid personnel round out the staff.
