MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND PREDOMINANT TASKS

  1. Overseeing and implementing creative elements for students to engage in weekly at Sunday Connect and Wednesday small groups.
  2. Provide strong biblical teaching during large group gatherings, retreats, etc.

o   This includes serving once a month in Grace Kids to create a seamless transition from Grace Kids to Grace Students.

  1. Invest and grow the volunteer leadership teams for both Sunday Connect and Wednesday small group nights by coaching, mentoring, and meeting with them personally.

o   This includes recruiting teams of volunteers to delegate ownership of the ministry.

  1. Partnering with parents to equip and encourage them in their role of developing their students faith.
  2. Meeting with students outside of Grace events/programs to develop growing relationships by showing up to community events where students are at. Examples: basketball games, track events, football games, musicals, etc.
  3. Utilizing social media - posting consistent content, promotional material, interactions with comments, and developing a social media team to meet students where they are.
  4. Any other responsibilities assigned by the Family Pastor.

 

ORGANIZATION AND RELATIONSHIPS

The Student Pastor will report to the Family Pastor at Grace Community Church. This position operates at a team level with the Family Ministry team, as well as the rest of the staff.

 

NATURE OF POSITION

This position provides leadership, teaching, and guidance to students and volunteers of Grace Community Church.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A personal and growing commitment to loving Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and sharing Jesus with others.
  2. Strong Leadership qualities.
  3. Strong commitment to volunteer ministry.
  4. Ability to thrive in a team environment and to recognize the need for collaboration.
  5. Ability to develop and lead volunteers who in turn organize and lead the ministry.
  6. Must be willing to live in a healthy biblical community with others, modeling what he is coaching others to do. 
  7. Must be relationally warm and friendly, outgoing personality, with the ability to lead and create kind and loving environments for staff, volunteers and families.
  8. Ability to see vision and create strategy and structure around the vision of the church.
  9. Must have a four-year degree in Student Ministry or a related field.

In 2001, a group of people saw a need in Cranberry Township. They wanted a church where you didn't have to pretend to be somebody you're not. On that first meeting in November, 50 people showed up at Haine Middle School intrigued by a church where people could be real with each other and talk about real issues.

In the years since then, Grace has grown into a community of 2,400 people serving and following God to impact our families and our communities. We don’t pretend to have it all together (because none of us do) but we look to Jesus for a better way to live.

Because only God knows the future, we are focused on becoming more like Jesus everyday and being open to the opportunities he gives us to reach the surrounding communities. From growing as disciples to eliminating debt, we want to be ready for what God has next for Grace.
