An excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher in Early Childhood Education aspiring for an administrative role. Work with the leadership team to ensure the smooth operations of the preschool program at Palm Academy and maintain a positive and professional attitude towards parents/guardians, staff, children, and the community by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assures accuracy and review of meal counts, attendance, parent/guardian sign-in sheets, and absence notes.
- Break and cover for teacher absences to ensure all classrooms are in ratio.
- Manage parent accounts via Brightwheel.
- Maintains current student and staff health files and immunization records
- Assures staff is competent, caring, and qualified to work with designated age groups.
- Identifies and evaluates children's needs.
- Conducts parent/guardian conferences and offers referral procedures as appropriate.
- Maintains a current list of qualified substitutes and provides substitutes with orientation, including scheduling, emergency procedures, and behavior guidelines.
- Provides a calendar or other methods of communicating the program to parents/guardians.
- Maintains background information regarding family, physical development, health history, and special needs.
- Maintains facilities, inventory, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Consults with Teachers regarding any difficulties in meeting certain children's needs, parent/guardian complaints, or concerns.
- Conducts regular staff meetings.
- Establishes communication system and development of teamwork.
- Conduct daily licensing walk-thru, weekly and monthly audits.
- Prepares weekly and monthly status reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Ensures staff adheres to state and government regulations and the center's safety guidelines.
- Discusses any procedural problems and child developmental problems
Expectations:
- Be present during essential operational hours
- Flexible and willing to start as a lead in a classroom setting
Education/Experience:
Minimum of 24 units in Early Childhood Education, including core courses, infant-toddler development, and child care administration. Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience.
