Work Location JAARS Waxhaw
To resource and care for Wycliffe missionaries and their families at JAARS, in the US and globally. To Increase missionary longevity and prepare the next generation of Christian leaders. This will result in better transitions, increased member retention and increased mobilization.
Time Commitment: open to discussion
Lead high school programs and the weekly high school youth group
Disciple Mission Kids (MKs) in grades 9–12 primarily at JAARS, but also those living remotely
Assist with general youth activities
A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
Embrace the vision, mission and core values of JAARS
Demonstrate a desire and ability to support corporate Biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work-related spiritual activities without reservation
A desire to work as a member of the youth team and be a team player
Exercise a willingness to donate time and talent to this work
There are nearly 600 million people in the world with little or no access to Scripture in the language they know best, their heart language.
JAARS makes Bible translation and language development possible, especially in the most remote places on earth. We do that by enabling locally appropriate and sustainable solutions in transportation, technology, media and training.
We need more staff to make that possible. Of those who work at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, N.C., 50% are volunteers either short or long term, full or part time, and of all ages and backgrounds. Missionaries and a few paid personnel round out the staff.
