Job Description

Work Location   JAARS Waxhaw

FTE         0.500     This can be a full-time or part-time position.

Position Summary          

The Cross Venture Program Coordinator works with church and school groups that come to learn more about missions, Bible Translation and JAARS.

Help others gain a vision for missions and become further engaged with JAARS through managing the logistical and program details required for a successful camp week. The position will use your relational and organizational strengths as you work with a wide variety of people and departments, managing the nuances of hosting a new team of people each week.

 

Position Responsibilities              

  • Direct, serve and support arriving groups, tending to needs throughout the week
  • Recruit staff, respond to inquiries. Refer to HR to be processed
  • Coordinate program schedule and manage volunteers
  • Coordinate program details with other departments
  • Prepare and implement internal communication and presentations
  • Develop teaching modules and follow up materials
  • Photograph teams throughout the week and distribute photos to them before leaving
  • Lead evening debriefs

Position Requirements 

  • A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
  • Embrace the vision, mission and core values of JAARS
  • Display excellent relational, organizational, goal-setting and budgeting skills
  • Exhibit strong communications skills, both oral and written
  • Able to learn and utilize new tools, processes and formats; proficient in Google Workspace
  • A team player, but also self-motivated and able to independently plan and prioritize
  • Detailed oriented and confident leading others
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word and Publisher, Excel, Powerpoint) is a plus

There are nearly 600 million people in the world with little or no access to Scripture in the language they know best, their heart language. 

JAARS makes Bible translation and language development possible, especially in the most remote places on earth. We do that by enabling locally appropriate and sustainable solutions in transportation, technology, media and training.

We need more staff to make that possible. Of those who work at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, N.C., 50% are volunteers either short or long term, full or part time, and of all ages and  backgrounds. Missionaries and a few paid personnel round out the staff.
