Hawkins United Methodist Church in Vicksburg, MS is accepting full resumes and brief cover letters until position is filled for a part-time Director of Music. The person will be responsible to the church for the development, promotion and oversight of the music program of the church.

About the Music Program at Hawkins:
Our worship services include congregational singing, a choir, a pianist, and solo or small-group special music.
We incorporate traditional hymns and contemporary praise music in our services.
We use music to minister to children, youth, and adults.
The program has some flexibility so that whoever is at the helm can breathe their own unique life into it and work with our musicians to minister to our congregation.
What We’re Looking for:
Has a growing faith in Jesus Christ, and is called to work in the area of Music Ministry
College degree in Music
Experience directing church choirs
Ability to work with adult, youth and children’s music ministries with differing abilities
Knowledge of existing and emerging church music
A team player who can adapt to an ever-changing environment
Able to administer the budget and maintain supplies and resources
Good time management, organizational, and leadership skills
Hours of Responsibility:
Sunday mornings for worship, including practice before the service
Other practices with choirs or other ensembles as needed
Be available to assist with special programming such as Vacation Bible School
A weekly staff meeting, as scheduled by pastor
This is a part-time position of up to fifteen hours per week
