JOB TITLE:  The Village Chapel Facilities Director


POSITION STATUS
:  Full-time

REPORTS TO:  Sr. Director of Operations & Administration

 

STAFF REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attending weekly worship services at TVC
  • Staffing at church events
  • Attendance at Weekly Staff meeting
  • A majority of TVC work hours spent on-site in our facilities/offices
  • Weekly meetings with Sr. Director of Operations & Admin as well as other support staff as needed
  • Maintains flexible work hours as determined by the needs of the church.

 

JOB SKILL REQUIREMENTS:         

The ability to balance organizational and leadership skills along with hands-on expertise for general handyman and maintenance tasks to effectively manage the ongoing logistics, operations and development of the building facilities for The Village Chapel.  Event management and support skills including leading and recruiting teams of both volunteers and staff; broad knowledge of facility management, clear communication and proven ability to follow through in a productive and efficient manner with excellence and attention to detail.

Strong Christian character that demonstrates a close relationship with God through personal devotional life, corporate worship, community engagement and a life of service. Strong work ethic and commitment to supporting the operational team at TVC being a wise steward of the church’s resources.  Demonstrates a “can do” positive attitude and ability to be flexible regarding tasks, responsibilities amidst a changing/growing work environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

FACILITIES DIRECTOR: Job Purpose and Overview
The Facilities Director is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of The Village Chapel’s Convent Place facilities. In addition, the Facilities Director will work in cooperative effort with the TVC staff and Convent Place staff to manage and support the worship services, weekly programming and special events as well as other duties that contribute to maintaining and improving the efficiency and productivity of TVC’s facility and operations. 

 

FACILITY DIRECTOR Job Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to the following

  • Oversee and manage the ongoing repairs, maintenance, logistics and improvements of TVC’s Hillsboro Campus at Convent Place. This may require completing a variety of hands-on handyman oriented tasks for time to time.  It may also require assisting the Sr. Director of Operations and Admin with oversight and project coordination with subcontractors who have been hired for projects at Convent Place
  • Manage and oversee the TVC Facility Team responsible for providing janitorial services for all areas of the building used by TVC as well as support for Convent Place during the week to supplement the contracted Convent Place janitorial service. This will also require assisting in the management of the buildings supplies for restrooms, cleaning products etc…
  • Manage the TVC Facility Team responsible for providing traffic coordination, security, and facility support for weddings and TVC events and programming. This includes scheduling for the various paid and volunteer positions on an ongoing basis as well as for special events. For major church wide events, the Facilities Director will be integral in the operations and logistics support of the event and will often need to be the first to arrive on-site and the last to leave. It may also require some hands-on support for set-up as well as administrative support for managing the Facility Team.
  • Provide organizational management and maintenance for all facility storage areas at Convent Place.
  • Oversees the management of the facility inventory system including procurement of supplies and materials needed for day to day church operations as well as for worship services, events and programming.
  • Manage and distribute keys, alarm system codes, parking credentials and access control management codes for staff and volunteers. Also assist the Convent Place Management company with management of access control, key distribution, and parking credentials.
  • Manage and Facilities Calendar in MyTVC (CCB)
  • Manage the Facility Request Forms and Work Order submissions
  • “On call” point of contact person for after-hours emergencies & alarms.
  • Oversee and maintain coffee beverage machine systems throughout the building and train various staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Being the "backstop" to fill in for events or programming if the designated facility team person becomes sick or is unavailable.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation, protocols, and systems for archiving information compiled from events and programming to be referenced in the future.
  • Assist Audio/Video Team with limited tech support for events as needed
  • Core team member along with the Events Coordinator or designated Staff Project Manager responsible for managing the logistics for special events such as Easter, Good Friday, church picnic, church wide potlucks, men’s and women’s retreats, etc…
  • Manage Bi-Weekly payroll and timesheets of TVC Facility Team and other direct reports.
  • Recruit and train new facility team members (paid and volunteer) on a ongoing basis and provide opportunities for leadership and spiritual development.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing management of the TVC Security Team and provide training and oversight for all worship services and event
  • Assist TVC Media Content Director with basic maintenance of Meraki IT Network
  • Manage office supply inventory and copy machines in office area
  • Assist Curate as needed for procurement of furniture and installation throughout Convent Place.

  • Tech Allowance: $150/month
