The Director of Men’s Ministry will oversee all programs for Men’s Ministry
consisting of approximately 10 staff members and a growing number of
volunteer staff. The Director of Men’s Ministry will also develop partnerships with
key agencies and service providers for a strong network of referral sources while
providing expertise and inspiration to churches and people serving men
impacted by homelessness and addiction.


  • Lead Men’s Ministry staff as a cohesive team expressing Portland Rescue
    Mission (PRM) values and fulfilling PRM vision
  • Deliver a balanced program through effective integration of the three
    ministry teams: community life, addictions recovery and life skills
  • Maintain programs in a consistent and comprehensive manner, utilizing New
    Life Ministries Manual as guide for how things are done
  • Cultivate a peer-to-peer program culture empowering ministry to happen at
    all times
    Actively engage with agencies and service providers city-wide, promoting
    strong referral of new participants in order to keep The Harbor at capacity
    with participants aligned with our services and community resources for
    current participants in order to provide robust support for our participants
  • Represent The Harbor to the community and partner with other PRM staff to
    tell stories of transformation to supporters and partners
  • Foster impactful church and volunteer engagement that develops program
    participants and equips the local body of Christ for transformational service
    Participate in the executive leadership team and actively collaborate with
    other PRM ministries so the greater goals are accomplished and the
    organization is unified


  • A passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and a testimony of continued growth in faith
  • A strong calling to serve women and children impacted by homelessness and addiction and in agreement with Portland Rescue Mission’s Statement of Faith and Code of Ethics
  • A personal ethos and work ethic that reflects Portland Rescue Mission’s ministry culture – Highly Relational, Christ-Centered, Joyful Servant
  • BA/BS is required, Master’s degree is preferred
  • 7+ years of management experience in social services or a faith-based environment
  • Experience leading teams and working in a culturally diverse environmentGood understanding of case management, counseling, homelessness and addiction recovery
