SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: 

The Community Impact Director will develop a new ministry within Connection Pointe to reach out into the neighborhoods in the area of our flagship campus and beyond to create and sustain small groups and to find and develop neighborhood group leaders. This ministry will be in touch with the unique needs of both new and long time neighbors and will work along side the Small Group Ministry with the neighborhood group leaders and small groups to create and implement meaningful outreach and service opportunities to address those unique, varying needs.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • In alignment with the vision and mission of Connection Pointe, develop a ministry to reach into our local neighborhoods, developing leaders and creating small groups that provide opportunity for community, service and outreach
  • Create relevant Community Impact and Service Opportunities in addition to leading the churchwide Outreach Projects such as Yuletide, Pi Day, Holiday Project and Project Classroom
  • Reach especially into new neighborhoods, delivering Welcome Bags to introduce Connection Pointe, inviting new com-munity members to attend services and events, and then developing leaders and creating small groups that provide opportunity for community, service and outreach
  • Collaborate with the Small Groups team to maximize resources and stay on mission with the charter of each ministry. Work along side the Small Groups Ministry to recruit, develop and mentor neighborhood group leaders to grow and lead small groups.
  • Provide pastoral care and counseling as needed within neighborhood groups and areas of community impact
  • Create relationships with service agencies, parks departments, schools, governments and non profits in our community to create ways to work together to serve the needs of our neighborhoods
  • Maintains a pulse on the church’s social movement and regional cultural forces, constantly assessing if the movement is growing in social momentum and Kingdom effectiveness within Hendricks County, leveraging influencers within the church, neighborhoods and surrounding towns to keep Connection Pointe a vibrant, strong, healthy and growing social movement in Hendricks County and the surrounding region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Has a personal relationship with Christ and committed to being part of the Connection Pointe family
  • Ordination or eligible for ordination at Connection Pointe
  • Highly relational, as a pastor and a staff leader
  • Able to multitask and react appropriately under pressure
  • Humble leader with proactive, collaborative leadership style
  • Requires minimal supervision
  • “All in” regarding the Vision of Connection Pointe

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master of Divinity preferred
  • Experience in a leadership role at a megachurch or large non-profit setting
  • Proven ability to lead, recruit and shepherd others
