The Science Teacher will work with the science department to help guide students in the learning of life sciences in accordance with the academic programs of SWCHS and its curriculum.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a strong Christian faith with a solid knowledge of the Bible, a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a demonstrated character of integrity. Believe and actively support the school’s Statement of Faith.
Possess a passion for Christian education and student discipleship. Individual must be comfortable connecting the biblical truths and worldview perspectives found in science to their students’ lives.
Comfort with utilizing school management software and other online teaching tools such as Google Classroom and the Google suite.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to communicate clearly in the classroom.
Ability to work with all functions - administration, support staff, other faculty, and students.
Prior teaching experience is required; teaching license and a graduate degree preferred.
Southwest Christian High School (SWCHS) is located just southwest of the Twin Cities metro area in Chaska, Minnesota. SWCHS is an independent, inter-denominational college preparatory high school growing in numbers each year with an approximate enrollment of 420 students, grades 9-12. In January 2019, SWCHS occupied its newly expanded space which will allow the school to grow to a maximum of 500 students. This new space provides additional classrooms, science and technology labs, and a performing arts auditorium which will seat over 750.
