Job Description

Pathway Christian is a virtual K-12 online school looking for an Operations Assistant position to take on a full-time position. (The candidate has to be a devoted Christian and a resident in Texas) The Operations Assistant position requires an elevated understanding of all Pathway programs, how they function, and how they are implemented. According to defined procedures, the person will deliver high-quality customer support across different communication channels, respecting quality and time. This will include enrolling students in the SIS, assisting students with onboarding procedures, and troubleshooting complex issues students/parents/partner schools may experience with the publisher’s digital products. 

In addition, the Operations Assistant role will work with the marketing department to create social media posts and curation and send a monthly school newsletter. A successful candidate is an excellent communicator, enjoys solving problems, and has a passion for customer service. Their ability to interact professionally and expeditiously with customers is of the utmost importance. This position is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction at all levels.

The candidate will be expected to: 

  1. Utilize knowledge base and training to answer customer questions accurately
  2. Research systems to find information to assist the students/parents/partner schools. (Customer)
  3. Process customer issues and provide a resolution within appropriate systems
  4. Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues as applicable
  5. Escalate or redirect technical issues beyond experience level to the appropriate team or team member
  6. Enroll new students throughout the school year. This involves student on-board processing and basic data input into the SIS.
  7. Updating enrollment information for every student at the beginning of every school year. Processing student withdrawal forms, schedule changes, and grade reports, and overseeing maintenance of all permanent records for students.
  8. Updating/reporting enrollment numbers frequently to the supernatant. 
  9. Assisting with certificates, awards, yearly attendance reports, core data report on transfers
  10. Creating and posting on the school social media under the direction of the marketing supervisor. 
  11. Curating & create a school monthly newsletter from content posts and upcoming events.
  12. Answering and solving basic tech questions from students and/or create tech-related tickets to and co-responding with e-publishers, LMS, and SIS for tech issues.
  13. Maintaining and modifying templates in SIS and school SOPs, keeping operations documents up-to-date. 
  14. Assist in other areas as duties are assigned by the supervisor.


  • A born-again Christian and regular church attendee.
  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, technical support, chat, or administrative support in a contact center environment
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Proficient computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word and Excel) or Mac Pages/Number (either one is required)
  • Experience with SIS, LMS, Loomly, Mailchimp, a plus (not required)
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude
  • Show strong initiative and ability to self-manage
  • The remote working location must have a stable internet connection and a laptop. 
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills
  • Show ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving, analytical skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate exceptional soft skills, showing the ability to fill voids and gaps in conversation with appropriate small talk
  • Assimilate and apply new job-related information in a timely manner
  • Set high standards of performance for self; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks
  • Embrace working in a collaborative team environment, but can manage themselves independently
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed

Work Status: Exempt

School office hours: 9:00 am-5 pm CST

Annual Salary: $35K=$38K
The job currently does not provide health insurance.
