Hillside-Haven is seeking a responsible, caring, married couple to become our House Parents for a rotation of 3 weeks on and 7 days off (job share option to be considered - 2 weeks on 2 weeks off). Hillside-Haven is located in Ellensburg, Washington (2 hours east of Seattle and home to Central Washington University). Hillside-Haven was specifically designed and created to promote independent living for young men with developmental disabilities. Our care philosophy emphasizes encouragement and positive reinforcement with respect for each resident. House Parents are responsible for overseeing the residents’ established daily routines while caring for the residents in the home.
We are built on large acreage (6 acres). The house features a master suite for the House Parents, four other bedrooms with ensuite baths (for the 4 Residents). Hillside-Haven has an open concept kitchen, dinning, living room and a spacious media/theather room for the Residents to comfortably enjoy a movie with their guests. A wraparound deck that offers beautiful views, including of Mt. Rainier.
Position Compensation starting at:
Hourly starting wage equivalent to approximately $62,400.00 (this is based on 4 Residents) per couple, tax-exempt, based on full residency (Job share option to be consider - 2 weeks on & 2 weeks off)
Offers regular wage increases based on hours worked along with a comprehensive benefit package including high-quality health insurance, PTO, etc.
Housing, utilities, and food are provided as well as a house SUV to drive when on-duty.
House Parents operate on a “3 weeks on and 1 week off” rotation and receive 7 consecutive days off each month (Job share option to be consider 2 weeks on & 2 weeks off)
Residents that you're caring for attend an off-site support program during daytime hours Mon – Fri, year-round, allowing the House Parents time off during each weekday. HP's are responsible for dropping them off int the mornig with HIllside-Haven provided vehicle and picking them up in the afternoon. Hours fluctuate according to season and circumstances. The support program is about a mile away from Hillside-Haven. It does occasionally close for inclement weather.
A high school diploma or equivalent; experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred, but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must meet the training requirements necessary for certification as a Washington State Individual Care Provider (IP). Each House Parent will complete 75 hours of paid training to meet the requirements.
A position at “Hillside-Haven" will be contingent upon this certification and the results of a Washington State background check.
Caregivers need to be physically and mentally capable of implementing each Residents’ care plan which can include personal hygiene care, behavioral support, meal planning and cooking, housework, light yard maintenance, etc.
Must be reliable, flexible, passionate about enriching the lives of those with developmental disabilities.
