Technology Infrastructure Manager strategically leads the design, systems performance and service delivery of the JAARS technology infrastructure. This role manages key technology staff, leads complex projects, champions major change initiatives and provides technical resources and support deliverables for the JAARS information technology and Google Workspace needs.
The role capitalizes on senior technical knowledge to implement best practices for the JAARS information technology platform and acts as the subject matter expert to deliver recommendations, policies and solutions in the overall technology infrastructure design and delivery of services and support.
Manage JAARS end-user devices (desktops, laptops, tablets), (as well as Windows, Chrome OS, MacOS, IOS), including assisting with the development of approved hardware lists, technology asset management systems and deployment of resources and technology for support strategies.
Collaborate with all Business and Technology Solutions teams in Technical Support Service Desk team, Technical Systems and Project Management Organization to enable their ongoing success and improvement.
Collaborate in information data security efforts in conjunction with our supporting vendors and key stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to use current or emerging technology to increase efficiency and flexibility of the information technology platform; formulate improvement plans and present them to senior leadership.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and recommend solutions for information technology platform problems, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions to solve the immediate problem and/or mitigate future issues.
Design, plan and implement necessary upgrades, patches or troubleshooting to solve the problem; document the changes and follow all change management procedures.
Maintain and upgrade Windows servers and Windows administration by updating server backups and managing the JAARS network and Wifi technologies by working with our supporting vendors.

Degree in Computer Sciences, IT, MIS, a computer related discipline or equivalent experience.
Proven ability to administer Google Workspace.
Subject expert level knowledge in information technology infrastructure design and displaying senior level technical competency in delivering efficient and effective solutions supporting complex information technology solutions.
Demonstrated track record to perform the responsibilities and duties above with self-sufficiency and independent thinking.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and willingness to share information and transfer knowledge to others.
There are nearly 600 million people in the world with little or no access to Scripture in the language they know best, their heart language.
JAARS makes Bible translation and language development possible, especially in the most remote places on earth. We do that by enabling locally appropriate and sustainable solutions in transportation, technology, media and training.
We need more staff to make that possible. Of those who work at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, N.C., 50% are volunteers either short or long term, full or part time, and of all ages and backgrounds. Missionaries and a few paid personnel round out the staff.
