Reasons to Believe (RTB) is an international, outreach-oriented, science apologetics ministry. Our mission is to spread the Christian gospel by demonstrating that sound reason and scientific research—including the very latest discoveries—consistently support, rather than erode, confidence in the truth of the Bible and faith in the personal, transcendent God revealed in both Scripture and nature.
We are seeking a full-time accounting assistant to provide administrative support to the accounting department. The ideal candidate will have two years of accounting experience, preferably with a nonprofit organization, and be highly motivated, productive, and detail oriented.

Track, file, and maintain all state registrations and sales tax
Update state disclosures on RTB website annually
Organize and retain state records
Process accounts payable and batch receivables
Reconcile and record company credit card on accounting software
Assist bookkeeper with journal and data entries as needed
Renew licenses and legal registrations for the organization annually
On occasion, help the Human Resources Generalist with administrative tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with all levels of staff
Strong organizational skills; ability to multitask and input data with accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of accounting cycle (debits and credits) and principles
Skill in performing detailed and complex numerical computations and reports
Experience with MS Office and capacity to learn and engage with new software and databases
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; high ethical standards and practices
Ability to initiate and work proactively and without supervision
Some college course work in accounting (bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
