Job Description

Automotive Technician

We are searching for an Automotive Technician who is properly licensed and has the experience necessary to provide optimum service. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of mechanical issues on vehicles used by the Ranch for work jobs and transportation of boys. This person will need to demonstrate consistency, flexibility, and teamwork. 

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
  • Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of problems and provide accurate repairs for maximum reliability.
  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, air conditioner re-charges, front-end alignments, battery installations and headlight/taillight installations.
  • Conduct automotive work on brakes, transmission, exchanges, and HVAC repair.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair.
  • Inspect vehicles according to the state's requirements for emissions and safety.
  • Maintain legible and accurate records of automotive maintenance and repairs.
  • Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
  • Teach and work with strong-willed boys to include training in safety and basic auto maintenance and repair.
  • May assist with boys in other areas such as work job, consequences, dorm supervision, or other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Willing and able to work with strong-willed boys
  • Be at least 23 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Missouri Vehicle Safety Inspection License preferred
  • ASE Master Technician certification preferred
  • Capable of teaching safety practices and work skills
  • Ability to drive and back trailers and trucks
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Hold and manipulate all necessary hand tools and shop equipment typically found in automotive diagnostic and repair
